Adopt Our Cold Bar Program (St. Paul Hot Lunch)

Mrs. Sue Headings our Head Cook at St. Paul Lutheran School would like to invite St. Paul Church Members to consider the “Adopt Our Cold Bar Program”. Church members can learn more about the “Adopt our Cold Bar Program” in the brochure located near the ramp of the Ministry Center or by clicking here.

No time to shop?! Monetary donations are always welcomed and appreciated!

  • Thanks Bob and Gail Schlicker for sponsoring the Cold Bar during the week of September 8-12. We appreciate your generosity!

Thank You

The 14th annual JME Memorial Run/Walk was a great success! We are sincerely grateful for the JME sponsors that made this event possible. Thank you to the Frankenlust Fire Department for ensuring our safety on the road.

Following the race, families enjoyed concessions, face painting, bounce houses, and good old-fashioned fellowship. It was a chilly but beautiful day spent together. Our Dunk Tank Fundraiser, featuring St. Paul 8th graders, as well as Pastor Matyas, Pastor Schultz, and Peter Schimm raised $454. Thank you all for braving the cold! Funds will help make next year's event possible.

A special thank you to Gary Behmlander for the delicious Italian Ice and cotton candy, and also to Principal Matyas for the face painting. We are grateful for everyone who volunteered at the event. We could not have done this without you! – With appreciation from the Garcia and Glasser families

Hearing & Vision Screening

The Bay County Health Department will be here on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 to conduct hearing and vision exams.

Hearing exams are for grades K, 2 & 4 and vision exams are for grades 1, 3, 5 & 7.

If you would like to opt your child out from the hearing or vision exam we will need a note, either written or emailed to office@stpaulbaycity.org

PTO Meeting - September 16

Parents, please join us! The PTO will meet on September 16th in the school cafeteria. Pizza and childcare are provided.

If you have not attended a PTO Meeting in the past, please consider joining us. Attending meetings is an opportunity for you to have input on what activities the PTO sponsors, vote on where we spend the funds we raise and a good opportunity to get involved with the school.

During the meeting, all teachers share an update of what is going on in their classrooms and an update on what the students are working on, the PTO provides a Treasurers Update to share the income and expenses we’ve incurred since the last meeting, we discuss old and new business, like possible fundraisers, possible fellowship events, potential usage of PTO funds, and we vote on where the PTO funds are being allocated. In addition, at some meetings we also have guest speakers join us to share relevant information as parents (financial education, Kids Savings, etc.).

To increase participation, we will be raffling off a prize at each meeting. Each parent who joins will be entered in the drawing and we will draw a winner at the end of each meeting

We hope to see you on Tuesday night!

 Thank you,

 St Paul PTO Board Members

RaiseRight - Formerly ShopWithScrip

A quick and easy way to raise money for your student is to shop RaiseRight. Families that shop RiaseRight receive 50% of the rebate earned (which can be put towards tuition, extended care, hot lunch or VLHS) and St. Paul School receives the other 50% of the rebate earned. You can find instructions and more information by clicking here. Gift cards are available in the office, online or through the RaiseRight App.

VLHS Homecoming

Friday, September 26

Tailgate Begins 4:30 p.m.

Homecoming Parade - 5:45 p.m.

Football Game Kickoff - 7:00 p.m.

All St. Paul Church & School families are welcome!

We will be providing grilled hot dogs, chips, plates, napkins and cutlery.

Please bring a dish to pass, your own non-alcoholic beverage, lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Look for our school tent with the St. Paul signs around it. It will be set up between the driveways at Valley.

Staying for the game? Seating in the stands could be tight so you’re welcome to bring your lawn chairs into the game and find a seat around the track toward the end zones with other VL fans!

Does your child have an EVENT PASS from a VL camp this summer? Use it for complimentary family admittance to the game!

We are looking forward to a fun filled evening with our St. Paul Lutheran School Family!

Please remember VLHS is a no alcohol/drug zone.

In celebration of Homecoming, St. Paul students and staff are invited to wear Valley Lutheran High School spirit wear to school on Thursday, September 25.

Parent Survey - Parent Pulse

St. Paul is seeking to evaluate our school from multiple perspectives, all in an effort to make this an even better place for your child and your family.

Because the parent perspective is so important to us, we've partnered with ParentPulse, a company that specializes in collecting feedback for Christian schools.

Continuing this year, each parent in our school will receive an invitation every few months to respond to a short survey. These surveys will be staggered – parents will receive the invitations via e-mail or text at different times.

We simply ask that you'd take five minutes to complete the survey. Many schools only send one (longer) survey each year, but we want to capture your thoughts and feelings in shorter surveys – and at multiple points over the year – so we can understand how things are evolving and how we can best adapt!

So, please be on the lookout for an e-mail or text from ParentPulse. The subject line will clearly identify St. Paul Lutheran School.

The information you provide is collected solely for our analysis, and your personal contact information will not be used or shared by ParentPulse. There is also an option at the end of the survey to submit your responses anonymously.

Thank you for partnering with us in Lutheran education.

Bookmobile

The Bay County Library Bookmobile returns to St. Paul on periodic Tuesdays. Y5/Kindergarten and new St. Paul students can access a library card application below. Your student can return the application to the school office if they would like to participate in Bookmobile.

Fall and early winter dates for Bookmobile are: Sept. 24, Oct. 14, Nov. 4, Nov. 25 and Dec. 16. Contact the school office if you have any questions.

Thank You!

A big 'Thank You' to the crew at Kukulski Drywall, for donating their time and materials; towards scraping the narthax ceiling and repairing the walls. (Jeremy, Izaak, Shay Kukulaski and Jeff Maserang)

Thank you to Jeff Maserang, for taking the time prepping and painting both the ceiling and walls. It really looks fantastic and really freshened up that area.

Thank you also to Scott Martin for renovating the bathroom!

School Pictures - September 19

Picture day for ALL students (Preschoolers – 8th Grade) and Staff is scheduled for Friday, September 19. Pictures will start at 8 a.m.

For preschool parents: if your child is not normally here on Friday, please still bring them in for pictures between 8:00-8:45 a.m

Retakes are scheduled for December 9.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Grade School

As of Tuesday, September 2, students are expected to enter the school building independently. Good-byes can happen either in the parking lot (if parking a car when a student needs help with buckles, strap, and doors) or in the car-line (if students can exit a car/truck without assistance). If a special need arises (birthday treats, school projects, etc.) parents are invited to help assist in carrying in items for ease of the student.

At the end of the day, teachers will accompany their students to the main parking lot and will stand in designated areas with clear signage.

Parents/grandparents/guardians should plan to park their vehicles and walk toward their students. All adults are encouraged to step inside the cones towards the school, this will allow moving cars to safely pass through the parking lot.

Teachers will release students to parents once parents have reached the group (no students running into the parking lot to meet parents standing by cars).

As we navigate the beginning of the school year, please be patient with your child and your child’s teacher.

Wildcat Club First Quarter

The Wildcat Club is an organization for St. Paul students in grades 4-8.

During the First Quarter, the Wildcat Club will experience a Service Project. St. Paul was gifted a Thrivent Action Grant to prep the upstairs boys bathroom for a bathroom stall paint refresh.

The paint refresh is tentatively planned for October 1-4, 2025, while school is out and the teachers are attending a conference. Students will be using gloves, magic erasers, washcloths and water to peel existing blue paint and remove white primer. This club will require students who are good listeners, hard workers, and possess the desire to help our school.

Any student in 4-8th grade can participate as long as they have a signed permission slip. A paper copy went home with your students today. Students need not attend every single meeting. Principal Matyas will be the adult in charge.

Sunday School Kickoff September 14

A new Sunday School year begins September 14, 2025, 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m., in the Ministry Center.  It’s the goal of the Sunday School program to provide a foundation upon which children and youth will build a lasting relationship with Jesus.

Children, preschool through 8th grade, are welcome and encouraged to come. Junior High Youth (Grade 6-8) will meet in the Youth Room & High School students are encouraged to go to Sunday morning Adult Bible Study.
