Thank You - JME Run/Walk & Family Fun Fest

The 13th annual JME Memorial Run/Walk was a great success! We are sincerely grateful for the JME sponsors that made this event possible. Thank you to the Frankenlust Fire Department for ensuring our safety on the road.

Following the race, families enjoyed lawn games, concessions, face painting, a bounce house, and good old-fashioned fellowship. It was a chilly but beautiful day spent together. Our Dunk Tank Fundraiser, featuring St. Paul 8th graders, raised $558. A donation will be made to help offset the cost of the 7th & 8th grade kayaking trip in the spring.

A special thank you to Liz Begick for donating event beverages, Gary Behmlander for the delicious Italian Ice and cotton candy, and Principal Matyas for the face painting. Thank you to the volunteers who helped with the event, especially Eric Zielinski, Jeff Maul, Megan Kusterer, Drew Meylan, John and Lisa Schlicker, Chelsea Vermeesch, and the Matyas family. We could not have done this without you! – With appreciation from the Garcia and Glasser families

PTO Survey & Minutes

The PTO is asking for your feedback. Please take a moment to fill out the one page survey that went home today with your oldest enrolled student. Surveys are due back by Friday, September 20. Your student can return them to the office or to his/her homeroom teacher. Thanks for your feedback!

Please click here to see the PTO Minutes from the September 10 meeting.

Save The Date - Book Fair

Save the date for St. Paul's Scholastic Book Fair October 21st-25th in our school gym. If you are available during the school day to volunteer, please contact Kristen Glasser at 989-529-2962 for more information. Any amount of time volunteering is greatly appreciated.

Picture Day/VLHS Homecoming

Both Picture Day and Valley Lutheran High School Homecoming Spirit Wear Day are scheduled for the same day–September 20. We encourage students to wear their Picture Day best (while honoring the dress code) and then invite students who own Valley Lutheran High School Spirit Wear to change into their jersey, shirt, or sweatshirt after their yearbook picture has been captured (typically within the first few hours of school).

School Pictures - September 20

Picture day for ALL students (Preschoolers – 8th Grade) and staff is scheduled for Friday, September 20. Pictures will start at 8 a.m. For preschool parents: if your child is not normally here on Friday, please still bring them in for pictures between 8:00-8:45 a.m.

Retakes are scheduled for December 10.

VLHS Homecoming

Friday, September 20, 4:45 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Homecoming Parade - 5:45 p.m.

All St. Paul Church & School families are welcome!

We will be providing grilled hot dogs and chips.

Please bring a dish to pass, your own non-alcoholic beverage, lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Look for our school tent with the St. Paul signs around it. It will be set up between the driveways at Valley.

Staying for the game? Seating in the stands could be tight so you’re welcome to bring your lawn chairs into the game and find a seat around the track toward the end zones with other VL fans!

Does your child have an EVENT PASS from a VL camp this summer? Use it for complimentary family admittance to the game!

We are looking forward to a fun filled evening with our St. Paul Lutheran School Family!

Please remember VLHS is a no alcohol/drug zone.

In celebration of Homecoming, St. Paul students and staff are invited to wear Valley Lutheran High School spirit wear, after they have their school picture taken, on Friday, September 20.

Wildcat Club First Quarter

The Wildcat Club is an organization for St. Paul students in grades 4-8.

During the First Quarter, the Wildcat Club will experience LEGO Building. Building with LEGO bricks improves cognitive development, fine motor skills, creativity, and problem solving. Students can bring their own LEGO bricks or can use the bricks provided by St. Paul.

Any student in 4-8th grade can participate as long as they have a signed permission slip. A paper copy went home with your students today. Students need not attend every single meeting. Principal Matyas will be the adult in charge.
