Extended Care on Friday, October 2
Today is the deadline to sign up! Do you need Extended Care on Friday, October 2 after the early dismissal at 11:30 a.m.? If so, you need to sign up using the online form or by contacting the office or Mrs. Kramer. Deadline is today. We will need at least 7 children signed up in order to provide care. Please plan to bring a sack lunch from home. If we don't have enough children signed up, we will notify participating families on Monday.
Parent-Teacher Conferences - OPTIONAL
Y5-8th Grade Parent Teacher conferences are on the calendar for Thursday, October 1 from 3:15-7 p.m. and Friday, October 2 from 11:45 a.m.-3 p.m. These conferences are not mandatory, but if you would like to sign up for a conference, you may. Please go to our online sign up and reserve a time with your student's teacher for one of the days. If one of these days/times will not work for you, please contact your student's teacher to make other arrangements if you desire a conference.
School Picture Day - October 14
Picture day for ALL students (Preschoolers – 8th Grade) and staff is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14. Pictures will start at 8 a.m. Class composites will include only the students who are present on this day, so please show up! :-D
For preschool parents: if your child is not normally here on Wednesday, please still bring them in for pictures between 8:00-8:45 a.m.

All students will get a picture flyer in the coming weeks. We will be utilizing Lifetouch photography, which is owned by Shutterfly. All photo packages will include a Shutterfly digital image, which you can use to buy Shutterfly products and earn money for St. Paul (see announcement below!).
Lifetouch + Shutterfly = Fundraiser for St. Paul
Attention Shutterfly shoppers! Please use this link http://stpaulbaycity.shutterflystorefront.com/ to place your orders. 8% of all sales will be donated to St. Paul. Since our school photos will be taken by Lifetouch, you can order personalized Shutterfly gifts using your child's school photo. What a great way to earn money for the school!
New Assistant Treasurer - Welcome Gretchen!
Gretchen Jurek is happy to be joining St. Paul as the Assistant Treasurer. She has a nursing background but is excited to start a new chapter in her life. Gretchen and Dave have 3 kids. They enjoy camping, sport, and crafts.

Gretchen will be working in the church & school office and assisting with financial tasks. Feel free to email her at treasurer@stpaulbaycity.org or contact her via FastDirect.
Did You Get the Phone Call?
We utilize a notification system called School Messenger to call parents and notify them of school closings, emergencies, or other special events. The system will make a call out to the phone numbers that were listed as “cellular” or “home” on the Enrollment Application. When the call comes in, the caller id shows the number 989-684-4450. Mr. Lustila sent out a phone call before Labor Day reminding you to check your FastDirect message about the school closure. If you did not receive it, please let the office know.
Bring in $1.00 or $5.00 or more!
The Michigan District of the Lutheran Church offers a wonderful savings program for children! “Kids Can Bee Super Savers”! This is a savings and stewardship program for children.
Make Cents for Kids! Money has a way of slipping through little fingers in no time at all, doesn’t it? That’s why it is so important that we teach our children about Godly stewardship at an early age.
When children buy Saving Stamps from Church Extension Fund (CEF) they quickly learn just how much fun and rewarding it can be to save! When they buy CEF Saving Stamps, they help build a church or school for other kids! They’re also growing a savings plan for themselves.
Your child can purchase saving stamps (from $1 to $5 to $10) every Monday morning at 7:30 -7:55 a.m. beginning September 14, at St Paul Lutheran School!
Hope to see you soon.
