This week's Teacher Feature goes all the way to the top floor to Mrs. Joy Ann Thomas-Evans, one of our sixth grade homeroom teachers.

First beginning her career as a high school English teacher in the Bahamas, she then became a Reading Intervention teacher with Catapult. It was this Catapult connection that brought her to our school.

"Life lessons and teachable moments are always part of my lessons because each student can learn; it is just that they all learn differently," says Thomas-Evans.

Mrs. Thomas-Evans is an avid reader and loves to write. She tries to bring "an island flavor into the classroom" as she helps students make a connection with classroom concepts and daily life.

Thank you for your passion, Mrs. Thomas-Evans!
