8th World Read Aloud Day at John James Audubon School No. 33

DETAILS:
Wednesday morning, dozens of well-known leaders, officials, and members of the community will gather at School No. 33 to participate in World Read Aloud Day. Volunteers include Superintendent Terry Dade, City Councilman Mitch Gruber, Police Chief La'Ron Singletary, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello, District Attorney Sandra Doorley, Sheriff Todd Baxter, Maureen McGuire of News 8, and Stacey Pensgen of News 10 NBC.

The global celebration is designed to promote literacy and the awareness that everyone has an inherent right to learn to read.

The District's Communications team will stream the event live, making it possible for students living throughout the world to view the activities taking place at School No. 33. The event will also be recorded and offered on demand on the District's You Tube page.

World Read Aloud Day will be celebrated globally by students, their schools, and proponents of literacy in more than 100 countries.
