9th World Read Aloud Day at John James Audubon School No. 33

Virtually involving students from John James Audubon School No. 33
DETAILS:
Tuesday morning, dozens of well-known leaders, officials, and members of the community will virtually read to students at School No. 33 as part of World Read Aloud Day. Volunteers include Superintendent Lesli Myers-Small, Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Genelle Morris, Chief of Schools Carmine Peluso, City Councilman Mitch Gruber, members of the Rochester Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter, Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley, Naomi Silver of the Rochester Red Wings, Elaine Spaull of the Center for Youth, and Maureen McGuire of News 8.

The global celebration is designed to promote literacy and the awareness that everyone has an inherent right to learn to read.

World Read Aloud Day will be celebrated globally by students, their schools, and proponents of literacy in more than 100 countries.
