Dear Parents of Knights:
From your emails, I can sense the conflicted feelings that many of you have about bringing your children back to school. We at St. John’s know that the pandemic is still with us and that we must maintain very careful interactions. We are profoundly aware of the trust that you place in us.
Unless the island’s leaders determine otherwise, we will carry out our plans for opening our campus for classes on Wednesday, January 20. We will attach the complete plan to this email so that you may review it before then. We have completed and submitted the required documents to the Department of Public Health and Social Services and are awaiting a response from them.
Please take some time to speak with your children about the expectations that we have for them and for you. Compliance to this comprehensive set of “rules” is not optional. Every student and every parent and every employee MUST rigorously obey these guidelines. We have been informed that inspectors from DPHSS will visit our campus, and we will be subject to fines or closure for infractions. In order to protect our school’s educational mission and the safety of our students and employees, full compliance to the re-opening guidelines is required for on-campus attendance.
If you have not already signed and submitted the Parent Affirmation Form, please do so right away. And remember to keep a copy handy so that you can refer to it daily.
