From the Principal - Mrs. Amy Nelson
Dear SJB Families,

As we look forward to the 2020-21 school year, we are committed to keeping you informed and engaged as we work to reopen school in the fall.

We have prepared three instruction delivery models: traditional classroom (on-site) learning, blended learning and virtual /e-learning. While it is our priority to be on-site together as much as possible, health conditions may require moving between models.

Model A - Traditional Classroom Learning Model
Students return to school five days a week and receive instruction in a traditional classroom setting. This involves enhanced cleaning and safety protocols, and physical distancing among students. We are evaluating our best options for the use of space and how we mange transitions between classroom and other school activities to accommodate physical distancing.

Model B - Blended Learning Model
Students receive traditional classroom instruction for a portion of the week and virtual instruction for days not on-site. This model will typically be used when we need to reduce the number of students in the building at one time.

Model C - Virtual / E-Learning Model
Students receive all instruction remotely via the internet, utilizing electronic technology to facilitate the learning process. This model is for use when on-site instruction is not possible.

Health and safety will be the key determining factor in our ability to offer on-site learning. We are diligently preparing operations and instruction models based on guidance from the Center for Disease Control, Department of Public Instruction, our local health department, and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. We are committed to preparing as safe a learning environment as possible for our students and staff.

It is our intent to begin the school year with the traditional classroom learning model. There are many moving pieces to each model, and we will need to adapt as the situation surrounding COVID-19 evolves. To help with this process we are establishing a web page for resources and details related to reopening our school and will update the page regularly as our plans continue to take shape.

The first day of school is scheduled for September 1 and we have a link to our school supply lists below. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable rest of your summer!

Yours in Christ,

Amy Nelson
