Dear CTA Family,
I hope you and your family are doing well and able to find opportunities to share quality time together.
I enjoyed chatting with many of you during our one on one Zoom meetings. The conversations were positive, thoughtful and informative. I also want to thank the families who completed the survey about “At Home Learning”. Your feedback is invaluable as we plan for the start of school in the Fall.
Planning for the next school year
We look forward to welcoming our students back to where they belong in our wonderful building, on our beautiful campus at 181 Noe Bixby Rd. As stated by the American Academy of Pediatrics and referenced in the State of Ohio guidelines for reopening schools it is best for our students to be learning together in-person . At CTA, we strive to educate the whole child and being in-person affords us the most optimal platform to meet each student’s needs academically, emotionally and socially. In instances of specific medical and health issues, we will treat it case by case.
We fully recognize the importance of doing everything we can to create and maintain a safe environment for our school community. To this end, we are in constant consultation with our
Medical Advisory Committee
who are helping to formulate our plans for reopening. All plans are taking into account the specific guidelines we received yesterday from Governor DeWine and applying them to our school and school community.
We are determined to not allow the challenges of COVID-19 define CTA. Yes, there are going to be many unexpected challenges that we will face as a school community. However, together we can face each one and view challenges as opportunities to help our students develop grit, be mindful of others and learn the critical skill of being flexible. We are committed to maintaining our focus on actualizing our mission statement to develop our students into educated, contributing, active, aware members of contemporary American and Jewish societies.
Lastly, with the help of your survey feedback and collaboration from Faculty and Staff, we are moving forward with building the infrastructure to be able to pivot and effectively educate our students. As we move closer to the first day of school we will share information with you about what a school day will look like, new health safety measures, expectations surrounding masks and social distancing, details about transportation, food services, athletics, after school activities and more. All of these protocols are being put in place to ensure that CTA is a place you can feel comfortable sending your children each day as we strive to meet each student’s needs.
School start date
After much deliberation and consultation with medical professionals as well as taking into account the specific needs of CTA, we will keep the start date of the school year to our previously scheduled
Tuesday, August 25th
: Upon the advice of our Medical Advisory Committee, given the variety of individual family travel plans we ask everyone to make an effort to be back in the state of Ohio two weeks prior to the 1st day of school (August 11). The two weeks will give each family enough time to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19, screen if necessary and appropriately distance themselves.
I am looking forward to welcoming your children back to their home away from home in just a few months. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
