School Starts Monday, August 30th at 8AM
We are SO EXCITED to welcome all of our families back to Stone for the new school year. Everyone at Stone has been hard at work preparing for our students to join us at school.

To be prepared for the first day, please review the information below carefully over the weekend. We'll see you on Monday!
CPS Daily Health Screener
*NEW* Online Daily Health Screener NO LONGER REQUIRED
CPS recently changed its protocols to facilitate student entry. Students are no longer be required to complete the online Health Screener each morning.

Instead, parents/guardians must review the daily screening questions at home each day with their child and sign and submit a quarterly COVID-19 Student Certification and Verification Form. The Quarter 1 form is due on Friday, September 3rd.

*IMPORTANT* Although submitting the screener online is no longer required, students must still adhere to the required screening/entry protocol, outlined in the image below.
Updated Entry/Dismissal Procedure
Arrival/Entry
  • There will be no morning recess due to playground construction and CPS COVID-19 protocols related to mixing classrooms.

  • Beginning at 7:30AM, students will line up at their designated entry door (See map)

  • Students must line up approximately 6 feet away from all other students.

  • Students will be let into the building one at a time and directed to designated waiting areas, according to their homeroom.

Health and Safety Protocols
Masks/Face Coverings
Students, staff and visitors are REQUIRED to wear a mask or face covering that FULLY covers their nose and mouth at all times while in the school building (except when eating or drinking).

Masks can be removed during OUTDOOR recess, as long as students remain with their classroom group.

Masks with exhalation valves are NOT allowed.
Handwashing/Sanitizing
Everyone is expected to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequestly throughout the school day, especially:
  • Upon entry
  • Before/after lunch
  • After using the bathroom
  • Before riding the bus
Social Distance
Everyone at school must maintain at least 3 feet of distance between themselves and others whenever possible.
Classroom Environment
Our top priority is keeping everyone at school as safe and healthy as possible. In order to maintain the required distancing, classroom rugs have been removed and other communal spaces have been minimized.

Teachers have worked hard to arrange desks and tables so that students will be AT LEAST 3 feet apart whenever possible (trust us....they measured!)

Below are some examples of the different types of classroom arrangement children might see when school starts next week. Although our classrooms might be missing some of the elements we're used to, we have done our best to create a welcoming and safe environment for everyone.
