We Are Accepting School Supply Donations

Every year, with the support of our generous community, we are able to provide school supplies to children in need. We are now accepting donations of new school supplies to help local students start the school year prepared and ready to learn. Donations are greatly appreciated and may be dropped off at the Township office during regular business hours. Questions? Call Nancy at 847 223-2847.

What are They Doing at Fremont School?

An excavation crew is beginning work this week on the addition of a new exit off Fremont Center Road just south of Fremont Intermediate School that will help alleviate traffic congestion.

Fremont School Notice

Dear Fremont Community

As a follow-up to our February update, Fremont School District 79 and Mundelein High School District 120 are pleased to share a noteworthy update in our ongoing efforts to protect local schools and taxpayers. On July 2, the Lake County Circuit Court denied the Village of Mundelein’s motion to dismiss our lawsuit regarding school impact fees for the Walnut Ridge and "Agricultural Property" developments. This ruling allows Fremont 79 and Mundelein 120 to formally present our position in court on the impact fees associated with these properties.

This ruling is an important step forward. While our districts eagerly welcome community growth, that growth must be sustainable and structured to preserve the high quality of education our community expects and deserves. Current developer impact fees associated with this case leave a projected $2 million shortfall for District 79. Further, because this case involves questions about how school impact fees are determined, its outcome could have implications for other large developments.

We remain fully committed to open dialogue with all parties regarding fair developer contributions to our school infrastructure.

Litigation has never been our preferred path. We firmly believe these matters are best resolved through collaboration, transparency, and thoughtful planning. However, as the case moves forward, our goal remains steadfast: ensuring responsible growth that protects both the long-term health of our schools and the interests of local taxpayers.

Thank you for your continued trust and support. We will continue to keep you informed as major developments unfold. For more information, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions document.

Sincerely,

FSD79 Board of Education

Tighthead Mundelein Grand Prix July 20, 2026

The Tighthead Mundelein Grand Prix presented by Garden Fresh Market returns to Mundelein on July 20, 2026. The action-packed day runs from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM, featuring back-to-back races throughout the day.

This year’s event will continue in its temporary location. Due to construction in the Village Hall Subdivision, the bike race will once again take place in the neighborhood south of Courtland Commons.

All event activities and the main stage will be located within Courtland Commons. Activities include food and expo vendors, a beer garden, live music, a kids’ area, chalk art for all ages, and much more. It’s the perfect summer outing for families, friends, and anyone looking for something fun and unique. Last year’s event drew 400 racers, 1,500 spectators, and 140 volunteers throughout the day.

As staff and race organizers continue planning this exciting community event, more details will be shared soon. For the most up-to-date information about the temporary bike race course location, sponsorship opportunities, and volunteer or vendor registration, visit www.mundelein.org/MGP.

If you are interested in volunteering, sponsorship opportunities, or vendor registration, please contact Jessica Marvin at 847-949-4204 or jmarvin@mundelein.org.
