February 19, 2021
Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you all have had a good week and enjoyed the holiday weekend.

Pink Shirt Day
Celebrated annually around the globe, Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, took a stand against bullying after a new student was harassed and threatened for wearing pink. We invite students in Grades 1 – 8 to wear something pink on Wednesday, February 24, to symbolize that we as a school will not tolerate bullying. We will take this message and remember it all year long. During that week, specific activities will take place to educate and remind students about their role in ending bullying.

Spring Break Plea
As you can see from our current COVID numbers, we have been very fortunate in mitigating the spread of the virus at the school. In order to keep this trend going (which ultimately means classrooms can remain open) I am pleading with you to voluntarily quarantine at home the week after Spring Break if you have any chance of exposure to COVID-19 due to traveling or visiting with people outside of your bubble. It takes a VILLAge!

Chromebooks
If you borrowed a Chromebook, headset, or mouse you should have received an email this week from Barbi in the Admin Office. If you have a borrowed device and are not currently using it, please return it to the Admin Office at your earliest convenience. We need all devices possible available for testing purposes. Please be sure to label each device you return with your name, so we know to mark that item returned. Thank you.

Valentine’s Day Gifts
Villa's Auction Committee and I would like to thank those that purchased Villa-inspired Pura Vida bracelets (in Villa’s school colors) during the special Valentine’s Day Sale. With all of your support, bracelet sales amounted to $1,835. This money helps fund Villa’s classrooms, our indispensable teacher assistants, and helps us deliver the best possible Montessori experience for all of our students.

Villa’s Auction Committee will continue to sell Villa-inspired Pura Vida bracelets. Click here to purchase. We thank you for your support of the Villa community.

Anti-bias/Anti-Racism
The board DEI Committee will be meeting with members of the Parent Advisory Group next week to share a possible direction for that group to take moving forward. We are thankful to all of the parents and staff that help us remain steadfast in this work.

Thank you
I appreciate those families that are respecting the guidelines set for walkers/bikers and carline. Your support means a lot. Have a great weekend.

Villa Montessori Tax Credit Campaign-Thank you! ... For contributing toward Villa's 2020 AZ Public School Tax Credit! So far we raised $67,546.54!!

Right now, a lot of us are getting ready to file our 2020 state taxes. Before you do, be sure to read about how you can benefit from Villa’s Public School Tax Credit below…

A tax credit is the ONLY way you get to decide where your tax money goes. If you owe on your AZ state taxes you can make a contribution to Villa’s Public School Tax credit and it counts as a reduction on your tax refund. Please don’t forget to take advantage of this amazing tax credit. The students at Villa need it. Please help today.

In past years, tax credit funds were limited to a small number of ways the funds could be used. Recent changes in Arizona Law now permit greater use of these funds, such as Computers & Software, Library & Text Books, Health Care Supplies, Playground & Shading Equipment, Furnishings
& Athletic Equipment. Which will allow us to use these dollars in broader ways to raise more for our classrooms. You benefit and Villa benefits.

This year has been very different, for everyone and for Villa as well. Generous contributions like yours make it possible for us to continue to serve an enriching, meaningful, authentic Montessori education and help us deliver the best possible experiences for all of our students.

If you haven’t got a chance to re-direct your state tax dollars yet, there’s still time. April 15, 2021, is the official cut-off date to make your AZ Public School Tax Credit donation to Villa Montessori School.

To make the largest impact in our classrooms, Villa Montessori introduced “Three + Me” as our slogan to inspire Villa's community to encourage three loved ones, friends, and or neighbors to donate. Please consider asking three people to also support Villa's AZ Tax Credit Campaign. They benefit and all of our students directly benefit.
Go online and give your tax dollars today! https://www.villamontessori.com/donate
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express.

Please follow these 3 easy steps:

2.  Keep your receipt.
3.  Claim your tax credit when you file! This means taxpayers may help Villa and reduce their state tax bill dollar-for-dollar at the same time. It’s that easy! Hurry! Don’t wait!

We thank you for your ongoing support!
