I hope you all have had a good week and enjoyed the holiday weekend.
Pink Shirt Day
Celebrated annually around the globe, Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, took a stand against bullying after a new student was harassed and threatened for wearing pink. We invite students in Grades 1 – 8 to wear something pink on Wednesday, February 24, to symbolize that we as a school will not tolerate bullying. We will take this message and remember it all year long. During that week, specific activities will take place to educate and remind students about their role in ending bullying.

Spring Break Plea
As you can see from our current COVID numbers, we have been very fortunate in mitigating the spread of the virus at the school. In order to keep this trend going (which ultimately means classrooms can remain open) I am pleading with you to voluntarily quarantine at home the week after Spring Break if you have any chance of exposure to COVID-19 due to traveling or visiting with people outside of your bubble. It takes a VILLAge!
If you borrowed a Chromebook, headset, or mouse you should have received an email this week from Barbi in the Admin Office. If you have a borrowed device and are not currently using it, please return it to the Admin Office at your earliest convenience. We need all devices possible available for testing purposes. Please be sure to label each device you return with your name, so we know to mark that item returned. Thank you.
Valentine’s Day Gifts
Villa's Auction Committee and I would like to thank those that purchased Villa-inspired Pura Vida bracelets (in Villa’s school colors) during the special Valentine’s Day Sale. With all of your support, bracelet sales amounted to $1,835. This money helps fund Villa’s classrooms, our indispensable teacher assistants, and helps us deliver the best possible Montessori experience for all of our students.
Villa’s Auction Committee will continue to sell Villa-inspired Pura Vida bracelets. Click here to purchase. We thank you for your support of the Villa community.
The board DEI Committee will be meeting with members of the Parent Advisory Group next week to share a possible direction for that group to take moving forward. We are thankful to all of the parents and staff that help us remain steadfast in this work.
I appreciate those families that are respecting the guidelines set for walkers/bikers and carline. Your support means a lot. Have a great weekend.
