All Lower School Students (grades K-5)

We look forward to seeing all of our students on campus for Welcome Back to School Days! It is vital that every student attend their designated day to meet teachers, receive schedules, and learn about the year ahead. Parents are invited to attend. Details will be forthcoming.

DeWayne Stallings

DeWayne Stallings, a long-time faculty member at Cape Cod Academy, passed away on July 8. Mr. Stallings was a remarkable gentleman, who brought joy, character, and creativity to all he experienced. DeWayne taught art across all divisions at Cape Cod Academy for 16 years. This included teaching visual arts, sculpture, and drawing. He had just retired from Cape Cod Academy three years ago. Our school has lost a dear friend. DeWayne's obituary can be found here. Our thoughts and well-wishes are with his family.

Important Information for the 2022-2023 School Year

Update from the Lower School Planning Committee

As many of you are in the full swing of summer fun, we have heard from families who are already preparing and excited for the beginning of school this fall. With this excitement comes the popular question: Who will be my child's teacher? Please know that the planning committee that consists of our current classroom teachers, specialist teachers, learning specialists, and the Associate Head of School, have been thoughtfully evaluating and determining the best place for your child for the upcoming school year.

When determining placement, the committee evaluates learning preferences, differences, strengths, and challenges, both academic and social, and any special training that a teacher might have that would be beneficial to a student. When you find out who your child's teacher will be, please be assured that all decisions about placement were made, first and foremost, with the consideration of your child's needs. Every student will be exactly where he or she is meant to be when school begins.

The committee members are all thankful for your respect and confidence in these decisions as the process is important, time consuming, and very structured. Please enjoy the rest of the summer!

Back-to-School Forms

Back-to-school forms that need to be completed online can be found on the parent portal when you log onto the Cape Cod Academy website. Forms will continue to be added over the summer.

School Supplies

Grades K-5

School supplies for students in grades K-5 can be found by logging onto the Lists, Forms, & Downloads Resource Board on the website. Parents do not need to order books for their children. Cape Cod Academy is ordering all books for students in grades K-5.

Grades 6-12

We are very excited to be implementing an executive function and skills course along with a uniform system of organization for students in grades 6-12. This year, school supplies are being purchased in bulk at a discounted rate and delivered to the school, which will be a significant savings to our families. You will be billed $75.00 for these supplies through our Smart Tuition billing system. Supplies provided will include planners, binders, notebooks, paper, pencils, notecards, sticky notes, etc. You will need to provide a backpack, lunch bag, calculator, computer, and charger for your child. You will also need to order textbooks; we will provide you these details later this summer.

Summer Work

Summer work for all grades, K-12, is available on the school website on the top menu bar named Summer Work or via this link.

Important Student Survey for Grades 5-12

Please have your children fill out this survey, which will give us information on their learning style. It will only take a few minutes to complete, and it will help us create their Personalized Learning Profile. Younger students may need your help. Please complete this survey ASAP. Thank you so much.

Help "Fill A Back Pack"

Samantha Greenhow '24 is working on a special community service project this summer and is seeking support from community members who are interested in sponsoring a backpack for a child in need. Fill A Back Pack, Inc. supplies eligible children in the area with a new backpack, school supplies, and an outfit for the first day of school. The goal is to help students in need to be ready to start a new school year prepared to succeed.

Fill A Back Pack committee members anonymously match individuals or groups to students in need. They buy their student a new backpack, school supplies, a pair or leggings or pants, a shirt or jersey, and a sweatshirt, or light jacket, or sweater. The cost to fill a backpack is about $100.

Those interested in helping will be contacted this month with details about a specific child (sizes, favorite colors, etc.) and a backpack drop-off location. A filled backpack should be returned in early August, so that it can deliver it to the child’s home before school starts.

If you are interested in supporting Samantha's project, please email Samantha's mother, Lauren Greenhow, at lgreenhow@hire-tech.net.
