Successful Transitions: 2023-2024 School Year

In my board report on June 25th, I expressed gratitude to all our staff for completing another fiscal year as of June 30. Looking back on the school year, we had major accomplishments in collaboration with interest holders and community partners, including, but not limited to:

  • Superintendent search and transition
  • Measure E facilities bond feasibility, campaign, and successful passing
  • Road to fiscal stability and responsible stewardship

Looking ahead to the 2024/25 school year and anticipated progress:

  • Improved direction and transparency through implementation of a digital policy manual
  • Facility improvements
  • Equitably improving outcomes and belonging for all students staff and families

Your continued engagement and support means so much to our community. Together, we can do great things. I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve on this body and pleased to close out another successful school year with you.

On June 19-21, I participated in the inaugural Asian American Pacific Islander Elected and Appointed (AAPI LEAD) Summit in Las Vegas, NV. At this historical event, over 300 AAPI federal, state, and local officials convened. We had the pleasure of joint sessions with National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO). CCUSD Policy Renovation & Development Workshop will occur July 2024

This month, the district will take the first step in transitioning to a fully searchable board policy manual supported by the CSBA GAMUT Policy Plus platform approved by the board over a year ago. Board policies are the most important way the Board of Education sets direction for the district. Learn more about the importance of updated policies and the process of transitioning to a digital manual in the document I published in July 2023:
