WEEK OF NOVEMBER 20, 2024
As we shared earlier this week, we are delighted to have Mr. John Jonak joining our office as our new Assistant Regional Superintendent starting July 1, 2025. Mr. Jonak comes to the ROE having most recently served as Superintendent of Rosemont School District 78. He brings 26 years of experience to the ROE and a wealth of passion for education that he plans to share with our communities.
As we conducted our search, John’s energy and passion for giving of himself to Kane County was evident. His decades of time served in education will be invaluable to our efforts. We are elated to have him join our team and continue his service with our office.
This also marks a somber note as Dr. Deanna Oliver will be retiring from the Kane County ROE after 10 years of service. She has been a driving force for our efforts and a consistent presence in our schools and communities. It is a great loss for our staff as well as our district colleagues that have grown to know her, but it is a well-deserved retirement for her years of service to our students.
She will remain with the ROE in a consultant role following her retirement, also on July 1, 2025.
Both Mr. Jonak and Dr. Oliver shared their thoughts on this career news, which you can read here.

"Build School Communities" offers classroom and behavioral management strategies to help students reach their full potential. With this course, participants will learn to identify the different factors that influence behaviors, as well as understand why one set of rules cannot work for all students.
