WEEK OF DECEMBER 18, 2024

It is one of the busiest, yet often, most joyful times on the calendar. The 2024 portion of the school year is coming to a close, and our schools are full of celebrations and preparations for winter break.

Our staff at the Kane County ROE has been busy as well, presenting at the Association of Educational Service Agencies Conference and Raising Student Achievement Conference, along with hosting our Student Photography Contest reception. It has been a demanding, yet rewarding several weeks, and it is your involvement that make these experiences inspiring.

We hope you enjoy a well-deserved rest this winter break and have the opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones. Your dedication and hard work in supporting our students and communities throughout the year is always appreciated.

We wish you and your entire school community a safe and joyful holiday, and we look forward to working with you in 2025!

Patricia Dal Santo, Regional Superintendent

Students, families celebrate the arts with Student Photography Contest reception

Through art, we learn how to document some of our most important moments and create works that can last a lifetime. Last week, we were able to honor the creations of talented students from across Kane County and their families and friends at our Student Photography Contest reception in Batavia.

We thank our participants for providing a wealth of memorable photographs to look through over the past ten weeks and for joining us on this night of celebration. We received over 2,000 submissions during this process, and it has been a joy to see the imagination these students can use through a lens.

We also appreciate BEI Properties for hosting us at The Dock and Water Street Studios for inviting our guests to view your new show and see your artists at work. The event also would not have been possible without the culinary students from Ms. Lori Rosenberger's class at Geneva High School, who provided our food for the evening!

Thank you for attending the 2024 Raising Student Achievement Conference

With over 900 attendees, 180 presentations, 22 exhibitors, and two days chock full of learning and collaborating, we would like to express our gratitude to all who joined us in Oak Brook for #RSAC24. We spoke to many educators who traveled across the state to be with us because of the impact this conference had left on them in years past. It was wonderful to see friends and colleagues reunite, exchange ideas, share and compare their district experiences, and speak about feeling reinvigorated or having a new strategy to take back to their classroom.

On behalf of the Illinois Association of Regional Superintendents of Schools, we thank you again for making this experience memorable and look forward to seeing you next year!
