Kane County Court Services joins ROE staff for roundtable

Ensuring that all students have the resources and environments necessary to succeed is one of the core services of the Kane County ROE. That involves working with colleagues across County departments to provide resources and supports to schools.

Last week, our office hosted a roundtable discussion with school counselors, psychologists, and social workers that make our Alternative Learning Opportunities Programs (ALOP) and Regional Safe Schools Programs (RSSP) possible. Circuit Judge Sandra Parga and Assistant State's Attorney Jessica Michaels joined representatives from Kane County Court Services to walk attendees through an overview of the court system, what happens when children become involved in the court system, what the Kane County ROE does to support these cases, and how schools can best support students during the court process.

We value the partnership of our school districts, Kane County Court Services, and all that help us find the most effective path forward for all students. Click below to read more about this effort.

Enroll your school for the 2025-26 Scripps Spelling Bee program

The Kane County ROE is proud to be an official regional partner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, and we look to help students discover their knack for spelling and passion for competition by providing a pathway from the classroom to the national stage.

The ROE invites schools to register through Scripps to host their own spelling bees and send school champions on to various levels of competition, including the annual Kane County Regional Spelling Bee on March 18, 2026. The winner of this event is eligible to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
