Virtual Science – Build a Generator
Sept. 20th, 2023 4:30-6:30pm CT/5:30-7:30pm ET
Calling all high school aged young women in the Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, and Baltimore area!

Join our Student Mentors to create your own generator and learn a little of the science behind nuclear energy. We'll send you any materials you'll need to create your generator.

Virtual Science - Rubber Band Racers
Nov. 8th, 2023 4:30-6:00pm CT/5:30-7:00pm ET
Join our Student Mentors in a light hearted engineering challenge to make the most efficient rubber band race car. We'll send you the materials you'll need to create your racer.

Ocean Energy
The oceans contain a huge amount of energy and capturing this energy could have substantial benefits!

According to the International Energy Agency, globally, ocean energy could help mitigate the effects of climate change by reducing carbon emissions from fossil fuel-driven electricity generation by an estimated 500 million tons by 2050.

National Air and Space Museum Explainers Program!
Have you ever wondered how a space shuttle toilet works? Or even how to land a space shuttle?

The Explainers Program hires high school and college students to help visitors better understand the Museum’s artifacts and exhibitions through hands-on programming.

Explainers work at either the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC or at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia.
