School supply drive to benefit G. Stanley Hall Elementary
The first day of school for Papillion-La Vista students is August 11 and to ensure La Vista students are prepared for the school year, the City of La Vista has organized a school supply drive. Donations will be delivered on Monday, August 10. Donations can be dropped off at any City facility.

A sample list of supplies requested by the school:
  • Pencil boxes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Clorox wipes
  • Pencils
  • Glue sticks
  • Colored pencils
  • Looseleaf paper
  • Spiral notebooks
  • Washable markers
  • Three-ring binders
  • Pencil erasers

The school has requested NO backpacks this year.

COVID Warrior Yard Signs
now available for purchase!
All proceeds will be donated to the Tri-City Food Pantry
You've likely seen the big banners at all major La Vista intersections honoring our COVID Warriors.

These essential workers have kept society functioning and moving during this pandemic, and it's our small way of saying thank you.

Now you can also participate! We have a small quantity of COVID Warrior yard signs now available for purchase for $10 each. All proceeds will be donated to the Tri-City Food Pantry.

Click the button below to purchase your yard signs. Consider buying some for neighbors and friends and encourage them to pay it forward!

All purchased signs can be picked up at City Hall during regular business hours.
La Vista X60 Scavenger Hunt!
Can you find the 60 stickers hidden around La Vista? Multiple stickers are hidden in and around the 26 locations listed below.

When you find a sticker, write a short description of where you found it under each location (i.e. “on a tree” or “front door” or “on trash can”).

You’ve got all summer to search! Just turn in this sheet by August 31st. Everyone who turns in a checklist will receive a free La Vista t-shirt! Happy hunting!

We have come to the end of our summer reading program for 2020 and you all should be proud! In total you read more than 4,000 books and for more than 211,000 minutes!! Great job!

The Library has reopened!
We have some exciting news! The La Vista Public Library has reopened to the public! The Library is now open Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays 1-5 p.m.

The Library isn't open to full capacity yet, so we thought we'd give you a tour of what we have available when you come see us.
Curbside Service now available from the Library
The La Vista Public Library is offering limited curbside pick-up service to patrons.

This service is available to those who currently have a library card and will take place when the Library is open.

There are three options to request materials from the Library during this time:
  1. Call 402-537-3900.
  2. Send an e-mail to lvlibrary@cityoflavista.org.
  3. Place a hold on the desired materials by visiting the Library’s online catalog (www.cityoflavista.org/librarycatalog) and logging in to your account.

Patrons must have less than $60 in overdue fines.

When requested materials are ready to be picked up, Library staff will call the patron with a specified pick-up day and time. To pick-up materials, patrons will arrive at their designated time on the west side of the Library.

Materials can be returned at any time using the book drop on the west side of the building. Any items too large for the book drop, such as board games, should not be returned until the Library is open again. Patrons will not be allowed to return items to staff when retrieving other items.

All staff will be wearing masks and practicing social distancing whenever possible, and all materials will be sanitized before being distributed and after being returned to the Library.
The Community Center has reopened!
We have some exciting news! The La Vista Community Center has reopened to the public! The center is now open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for adults 19 and above.

The center isn't open to full capacity yet, so we thought we'd give you a tour of what we have available when you come see us.
Registration Open for Fall Youth Sports
Registration is now open for all of La Vista's youth fall sports programs, including:
  • Three-year-old Soccer Clinic - final registration ends August 8
  • Soccer Academy & League - final registration ends August 8
  • Coed Youth Volleyball - early registration ends September 14

Registration dates and prices vary by sport and can be found on our website.
