October 16, 2023

We value your participation in your child’s education. Beginning Monday, October 23, 2023, we will be using SCHOOLOGY as the main classroom communication tool. We are excited to use this new online tool, and believe it's use will make it easier for you to participate in your child's school life. In the past couple of weeks we have told you a little bit about SCHOOLOGY; maybe you remember? It is simply an online tool used for communicating with students and families through teacher pages.

One of the new impacts for K-5 parents/guardians is that classroom newsletters will no longer be emailed or sent home in hard copy format. Please note that for now, the middle school newsletter will continue to be sent in email format as it reaches a broader audience. While change is often difficult, we see many positives to this change:

  • one login to access classroom information for ALL your children
  • newsletters (K-5) and other classroom information will be available in one location in SCHOOLOGY
  • users will have quick and easy access to newsletters grades K-5
  • all K-5 newsletters will be archived so no more hunting for lost newsletter hard copies to find information you may have forgotten

As we prepare to go live with SCHOOLOGY, parents/guardians will need password-protected access to their accounts. On Monday, October 23, 2023, you will receive an email from SCHOOLOGY with the subject line Schoology Registration. Included in that email will be the required information and links you will need to register for your parent account.

SCHOOLOGY offers many features for both students and parents/guardians. We are excited to roll out this online tool to families. Jane Elzinga will be your best source for answers to any questions you may have about SCHOOLOGY. She can be reached at [email protected] or 616.453.3925, ext. 112.
