We hope you had a great summer

you are enjoying the beautiful fall season that we are having. Halloween and Thanksgiving are right around the corner and as always, we hope that the last few months of 2017 are happy, healthy and safe for you and your loved ones.

Schulman Blitz, LLP settles case for $600,000
for pedestrian struck by bike messenger
Our client, a 71 year old woman was crossing Broadway at 71st Street in Manhattan when she was struck by a bicycle messenger who was employed by
a Manhattan-based courier and messenger company.
Our client sustained multiple fractures as a result of being struck by the bicyclist, including fractures to her face and her pelvis.

Bronx woman whose vehicle collided with garbage truck
Our client, a 66 year old woman, had left her home in the Bronx and was driving her car on her way to meet some friends. She stopped at a red light at the intersection of East 222nd Street at White Plains Road. When the light turned green, she began to proceed into the intersection, when her car was struck by a sanitation truck that suddenly and without warning began to back up into the the middle of intersection.
Our client sustained multiple
As a result of the crash, our client sustained injuries to her lower back which required a spinal fusion surgery. While litigation was ongoing,
Justin Blitz, Esq.
was able to procure a settlement for our client in the amount of $590,000.

More Recent Schulman Blitz, LLP Settlements
- Our client, an executive at Bloomberg, L.P., was walking to work when she was struck by a car that was making a left turn onto 3rd Avenue from 96th Street in Manhattan. As a result of the crash, our client sustained severe injuries to her jaw and face resulting in a debilitating and painful temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction, known as TMJ.
The temporo-mandibular joint is a hinge that connects your jaw to the bones of your skull. This joint you move your jaw up and down and side to side, so you can talk, chew, and yawn.
After five years of litigation, at the eve of trial, Justin Blitz, Esq. settled our client's case for $212,500.00.

Our client, a porter and a member of the Service Employees International Union, Local 32BJ, was driving his car on North Conduit Avenue in Queens when he was rear-ended while stopped for red light. Due to the impact, he hit his knee on the underside of the dashboard and suffered a lateral meniscus tear which required arthroscopic surgery.
Stephanie Mastrocola, Esq. settled our client's case during the course of the litigation for $145,000.00.

Thomas Schiro, Esq.
settled a case for our client, an elderly woman, who was
not properly secured to her wheelchair inside an ambulette. When the driver began to drive, our client's
wheelchair fell backwards, causing her to strike her head on the floor of the ambulette and suffer injuries to her neck and lower back.
Mr. Schiro was able to successfully settle our client's case with the insurance company for the ambulette prior to litigation for an amount which fairly compensated our client for the injuries that she sustained.
- Our client, a 16 years old high school sophomore, was walking on a sidewalk in White Plains when he was struck by a car that was exiting a parking lot. As a result of the crash, our client sustained a trabecular fracture to his knee. Stephanie Mastrocola, Esq. resolved his case during the litigation for a confidential amount.
