Climate Change Consensus Endures in Florida

Belief in climate change among Florida adults has climbed to more than 90 percent, including 84 percent of self-identified Republicans, according to a new analysis of the seven sequenced surveys conducted by Colin Polsky, Ph.D., a Professor and Director of the Center for Environmental Studies, FAU Charles E. National Parks Conservation Association Funds Student Research

Congratulations to Garrett Maggio, Kayla O’Brien, Nate Winn and Olivia Rothberg – the four FAU Environmental Science graduate students who were selected as recipients of the 2022-23 National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) funding support! The students' projects were each awarded $1,000 by the NPCA, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the National Park System for present and future generations. Read more.

The three-day event featured healthcare professionals from surrounding universities and local community practitioners. Temple Grandin, Ph.D., is a Professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University. Grandin has been instrumental in implementing animal welfare auditing programs that are used by McDonald's, Wendy's, Whole Foods and other corporations. Grandin has designed facilities for handling livestock that are used by many companies around the world, and has appeared on numerous TV shows, such as 20/20, Larry King Live and Prime Time. Her books include: "Thinking in Pictures, Livestock Handling and Transport," and "The Autistic Brain." Her book, "Animals in Translation," has been on The New York Times Bestseller List. Temple was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in September 2017, and in 2022, she was named a Colorado State University Distinguished Professor.
