Hubble Picture of the Week Taken by FAU Astrophysicist
This star-studded Picture of the Week from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, taken by Ata Sarajedini, Ph.D., Professor and Bjorn Lamborn Endowed Chair in Astrophysics, depicts NGC 6717, which lies more than 20,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Sagittarius. The photo is part of NGC 6717 is a globular cluster, a roughly spherical collection of stars tightly bound together by gravity.⁠

Shark Researcher and Pilot Featured | National Aviation Day
Stephen Kajiura, Ph.D., Professor of Biological Sciences, is an internationally renowned shark researcher and pilot with more than 950 hours of flight time. During his training flights, Kajiura saw large numbers of sharks along the beach. Those sightings sparked his idea for a shark aerial survey program at FAU, and he now uses aviation to study the annual blacktip shark migration. Watch here.
