Schmidt College of Science and the National Marine Fisheries Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), predicted that the solid central part of the vertebrae in mature, older sharks would be stiffer and tougher. So they decided to put their theory to the test.

Meet Medical Physics Alumna Marjan Shojaei
|
|
Marjan Shojaei graduated with her
Professional Science Master in Medical Physics (PSMMP) from FAU in the fall of 2018 and is currently working at the South Florida Proton Therapy Institute (SFPTI) as a Medical Physicist Assistant. SFPTI is a new cancer treatment facility that uses groundbreaking photon and proton therapy to deliver focused beams of radiation to tumors.

FAU Proposals Selected for NIST Encryption Standards Shortlist
|
|
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) shortlist of the 26 top proposals for new encryption standards includes four proposals from Florida Atlantic University for its second round of the “Post Quantum Standardization” process. NIST is instituting new encryption standards to protect sensitive information from the threat of quantum computers. FAU stands out with three proposals co-authored by Edoardo Persichetti, Ph.D., an assistant professor in FAU’s Department of Mathematical Sciences and one proposal selected from Reza Azarderakhsh, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the FAU College of Engineering and Computer Science.
