Scorekeeper can be used for 8-Ball and 9-Ball formats only.

Players will still use paper scoresheets for tournaments.

YOU MUST TEACH PAPER SCORING!

Here Is How to Begin!

Step 1: Educate & Prepare Your Initial Group of Players

Start with 1-2 divisions to get comfortable! Hold a Player Orientation. This can be in person, using Zoom, in a private Facebook Group.

Set expectations for their experience! We will experience growing pains as more areas come on board. They will have issues. Share troubleshooting guidelines.

If there are app issues, they will have to keep score on paper!

PREPARE THEM!

Share the player help page which includes video tutorials.

IMPORTANT!

If they are playing around in the app and submit, their match will no longer be available for them to score on League night unless you unsubmit it through Nexus.

To Unsubmit a match that has not been input:

  • In Nexus go to Reports/Electronic Scoresheets.
  • Enter the Session/Format/Week/Division or Team.
  • Open the Electronic Scoresheet (ESS).
  • Select the three line icon at the top right. (pictured below)
  • Select Unsubmit. (pictured below)

Step 2: Activate Scorekeeper in Nexus (1-2 Divisions)

REMINDER: It may take 24-48 business hours for your area to be activated on our end following the onboarding meeting. The Electronic Scoring checkbox will be available in the Division screen in Nexus once you are activated.

Give your selected division(s) access to Scorekeeper by checking the "Allow Electronic Scoring" checkbox on the Division screen.

Verify the "# of Matches Expected" in the division screen is set to 5 for standard format teams and 3 for Ladies 8-Ball divisions.

Preview scoresheets as you normally would in Nexus to make their matches available in Scorekeeper.

Step 3: Time for League Night!

Players score and submit their matches using the app.

Be sure teams ALWAYS have blank scoresheets

and know how to keep score on paper

just in case there are issues on League night!

Step 4: Time for Input! Print Electronic Scoresheets from Nexus for Match Input

Under "Reports" in the Nexus menu bar, choose "Electronic Scoresheets" from the drop-down menu.
Much like printing scoresheets, you can select the appropriate Divisions to access submitted electronic scoresheets.
Step 5: Process and Input Scoresheets Normally
From this point forward, your process is the same as it is for regular scoresheets. Redline and input the printed electronic scoresheets into Nexus as usual. See Step 4 for how to print them!

Support

YOU are the first line of support for players!

LOs can access live Scorekeeper to assist players and answer questions. Download the app and enter your Services/Nexus username in the email field (usually your first initial last name) and password. You will have access to all divisions set up to use electronic scoring.

When major issues arise on League night that hinder use of the app altogether:

  1. Always check the status page for outages first. https://status.poolplayers.com/
  2. If there is no info on the status page, you should call the After Hours Emergency Support line 636-625-8611 ext 5410.

For non-emergencies such as submitting feedback/reporting minor things that did not hinder usage, email scorekeeper@poolplayers.com. This email address routes submissions through a system where both the Tech Team and Support Services can easily access them without having to forward emails around to multiple people.

We are not considering any enhancements at this time.
