Scotch Whisky Association Drops Suit Against Virginia Distillery Co.
|
|
The Scotch Whisky Association is dropping a federal lawsuit against Virginia Distillery Co., according to the Associated Press. The lawsuit claimed that the Virginia Distillery Co. had engaged in “false, misleading and deceptive” labeling of whiskey sold under the brand name “Virginia-Highland Whisky.”
Virginia Distillery CEO Gareth Moore issued a statement saying the company is working toward an amicable resolution with the Scotch Whisky Association.

ACSA's Craft Spirits Judging

Registration is now open for ACSA's annual Craft Spirits Judging competition. ACSA takes great pride in conducting a rigorously professional judging program that recognizes the best craft spirits in the categories of Vodka/Grain, Gin, Brandy, Rum, Whiskey and Specialty Spirits. And we're now accepting international spirits. Judging will take place October 29-30 at Cardinal Spirits in Bloomington, Indiana and category medalists will be announced on March 30, 2020 at the Awards Banquet during ACSA Distillers’ Convention & Vendor Trade Show at the Oregon Convention Center (convention dates are March 29, 30, & 31, 2020). To take advantage of the special Early Bird entry rate, please submit your entries by September 2. The regular submission period ends October 4 and the late deadline is October 18.

Copperwing Distillery Releases FRESAS
|
|
Copperwing Distillery of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, today announced its newest product: FRESAS, a strawberry flavored gin. This new gin uses local grains to create the base spirit and is then macerated with botanicals including juniper and coriander. After infusing for five days, the spirit is re-distilled and vapor-infused with more juniper. Finally the gin is blended with real strawberries. (CraftSpiritsMag.com)
