School is starting up and a new Scouting year is about to begin! We can't wait to start welcoming new families into Cub Scout Packs across Metro-Atlanta this Fall! We have exciting opportunities for Scouts and Venturers to enjoy as well. It's a great season for Scouting!
Scout Shop Announces Extended Hours for Fall
The Scout Shop will be open later this Fall to give new Scouting families more opportunities to get their gear! Don't forget there's always reserved parking for Scout Shop customers, even on Braves game days.

From August 13 to October 26 the Scout shop will be open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays.

From August 11 to October 14 the Scout Shop will be be open on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Atlanta Braves Pinewood Derby Presented by NAPA AutoCare Atlanta -- September 15, 2018
Bring your Pinewood Derby car and get ready to race against hundreds of Cub Scouts in a tournament style Pinewood Derby hosted by the Atlanta Braves and NAPA AutoCare Atlanta at SunTrust Park in the morning on September 15, 2018 at 9:00 AM!
All racers will be invited to an optional Pinewood Derby Car Build Day which will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018.
Stick around for Scout Day with the Braves that evening as the Atlanta Braves take on the Washington Nationals at 7:10 PM. Discounted tickets are available and include a patch for every Scout in attendance!
Merit Badge University is a quality Merit Badge program that helps Scouts learn about different fields of knowledge. By recruiting experienced professional counselors, Scouts receive an unparalleled experience. It’s hosted on the beautiful Kennesaw State University Marietta campus, giving Scouts a great opportunity to experience a college atmosphere.

The $15 registration fee includes breakfast as well as program materials for most classes with only a few exceptions. Classes will include Emergency Preparedness, Citizenship in the Nation, Communication and much more! Registration opens on August 1, so sign up today!
Spooky-Ree Family Camping Weekends -- October 2018
Spooky-ree is a fall themed weekend filled with a fall festival, creepy-crawly nature show, pumpkin decorating, archery, BBs, s'mores, and a campfire. The highlight of the weekend is the Trick-or-Treating Trail for all Scouts and an extra spooky haunted trail for the older Scouts and adults.

Bring out the whole family: Cub Scouts, big brothers and sisters, little brothers and sisters, cousins, etc. Everyone is welcome to come out to camp and enjoy the beautiful fall weather at Bert Adams!
Imagine a world where more people are committed to keeping kids safe. The BSA is serious about fighting child abuse, and you are an important part of that fight.

The BSA has announced bold, wide-ranging updates to its Youth Protection program as part of an ongoing effort to protect young people from child abuse.

This starts with an enhanced online Youth Protection training course all volunteers and professionals must complete.

Scout leaders who took the previous version of Youth Protection training have been asked to log into and complete the updated Youth Protection course by Oct. 1, 2018.
