Scout News: October 7
Flyers for schools, banners, handouts: We have lots of very helpful resources to help you welcome new families into Scouting. We can help you with electronic flyers to be emailed through schools, too. Click the red button below and let us know what resources we can set aside for you. We are happy to drop any materials off at your house too.
We followed his journey, now Nolan has been highlighted in Bryan on Scouting's blog! Read his complete story here. Super cool to see. Way to go, Nolan. We are proud of you.
Renewals are coming soon! All youth and adults will renew for 2022 using a brand new platform this year. See reminder of renewal fees and process. This system will open next Friday, October 15.
Saturday, November 13 - Scouts will be collecting food throughout neighborhoods across our cities. See more info here. So many people count on Scouts for help, we appreciate all families who participate.
Big news! We received a grant from $25,000 from Edison's Fire Safe Council for fire prevention at Camp Tahquitz. These funds will help us maintain defensible space around our beautiful, beloved camp.
Friday, November 26 - enjoy a walk around town visiting various places of worship. An annual family favorite for all ages. Walk off your Thanksgiving meal. See event info.
Saturday, October 16 - the 4th annual Sea Scouts Golf Tourney returns to Little Rec. Bring your friends, family, or colleagues to this fun 7-iron golf tournament in support of the Long Beach Sea Scouting Program.
Nominations are due October 31. Honor your fellow adult volunteers for the prestigious Silver Beaver Award. See info and prior recipients here. This award is the highest award a council can give to a volunteer. Help us find nominees!
