Last month, Scouts Canada held its Annual General Meeting in Ottawa. The AGM overlapped with the National Conference for Council Key 3s and the national leadership teams. This made for a great chance to catch up with Scouters from across Canada and to hear about what is going on with our Groups and Councils. Some of our Voting Members (representatives from each Council who vote at the AGM) also attended in or online, and it was great to spend time with them.
The conference saw a lot of open discussion about the state of Scouting in Canada. There was a good overview of some of our newer programs, including Group Commissioner Training (over 330 GCs trained in 2018–19, with 93% recommending the program), as well as updates on longer-standing priorities such as Safe Scouting and property operations. I thought there was a real sense of energy and momentum in all the sessions, matched with robust conversations about where we need to focus in the coming year.
Our Annual Report is now available online, and Id encourage you to take a look at the summary of our activity from the past year. Discover youth impact, highlights of meaningful Scouting moments and our financial position, which I would characterise as strong.

| ANNUAL REPORT HIGHLIGHTS |

- World Scout Jamboree — Over 750 Canadian Scouts joined 45,000 youth and Scouters from over 150 countries to celebrate world-wide Scouting.
- Group Commissioner Orientation — 330 Group Commissioners trained.
- Group Support Centre Launched — An online hub providing 600 Groups with a wide array of tools and resources, 24/7. Of these Groups, 170 have more youth participating in the program than last year.
- Head Safe — Building safer communities and extending our culture of safety to 34,000 Scouts Canada members and 5 Ontario communities, in partnership with Hydro One.

The Company is a great example of how 3rd Fonthill is both attracting new members and finding fun ways to keep existing members involved in Scouting. |

| Canadian Jamboree Update |

| As there has been no interest expressed to date from a volunteer team in putting on a Canadian Jamboree, it is unlikely that there will be a CJ in 2021. While the Canadian Jamboree is accredited and supported by Scouts Canada, it is ultimately a volunteer initiated and run event. |

| To better support the delivery of fun, safe and high quality events for youth, like a Canadian Jamboree, Scouts Canada has developed a new Event Standard which is now available online for your review and feedback. The new Event Standard was developed with significant volunteer input from across the country. Were excited for many successful events across Canada in the years to come. |

| Ride the Tidal Power in the Summer of 2020 at the Atlantic Jamboree |

| The Atlantic Canada Councils will be greeting the world with the very first Atlantic Jamboree from July 11 to 18, 2020! Experience Canadas east coast at beautiful Camp Nedooae on Brown Lake, Nova Scotia. This 107-hectare site is home to numerous hiking and biking trails, and a climbing and repelling tower. Brown Lake will host paddling and other water-based activities. |
