Scout Seeds — New Fundraiser |
Discover Scouts Canada's New Spring Fundraiser |
Support local Scouts while helping the planet! Scouts Canada is piloting a green fundraiser to run from March 30 to April 24, 2020, in partnership with Make It Sow. Scout Seeds is a pilot fundraiser aligned with our new Scouts for Sustainability program, and will explore the impact of online fundraising for Groups. |
Operating as a show-and-sell only, all participating Groups will receive their fundraising kit (five different seed kits and one greenhouse kit) as well as the order forms. For Groups looking to fundraise online, Scouts Canada has a user-friendly platform that can easily be shared with family and friends. Online orders will be delivered directly to supporters. |

Group Growth: 3rd Fonthill |
The first night I dropped my kid off was my first step onto The Canadian Path and a journey that would bring me to where I am now — I just didn't know it then! Having been away from Scouting for so long, I'd forgotten how much fun working with the youth can be. Scouting also connected me with like-minded people who I now count among my very good friends. |

March Safety Tip — Stay Cool With Burn Safety |
Lighting and tending a campfire, cooking on a camp stove, and enjoying an adventure with friends on a sunny day are all great examples of the fun experiences youth hope for when they join Scouting. To avoid risk while engaging in activities like these, it's important to stay mindful of safety practices. |

Pathways to Your Future |
The Pathways to Your Future program aims to provide Venturer- and Rover-aged youth with the skills they need for success. Whether pursuing a post-secondary education or joining the workforce, this program offers participants valuable Scouts Canada training. Participants will receive professional training and hands-on experiences to help choose the education and career path that is best for them. |
Thanks to Ann Marie Sweeney's generous gift to Scouts Canada, this special initiative will offer 100 participants career counselling, skills development and mentorship as they complete their individual, youth-proposed and youth-led Scouting project. |

Scouts Canada is Making It Easier to Book Camps |
In an ongoing effort to improve Scouts Canada functions and facilitate easier adventure planning for Groups, we are excited to offer a new online registration system for Scouts Canada camps. Through our new user-friendly platform, Doubleknot, users benefit from an enhanced customer experience and service that is available 24/7 for booking convenience. Starting in April, the first wave of pilot camp properties will begin to transition to this system where instant booking, electronic payments, automatic invoicing and receipt delivery will create a smooth registration process. |
By creating a personalized account, users can now view their reservations, previous history and outstanding balances to modify at their leisure. Existing bookings will be personally contacted to ensure that their reservation is transitioned into the new system accurately. Stay tuned for exciting updates as a camp near you is transitioned over. |
