Dear Cradle of Liberty Scouting Family,
As you may be aware, the Cradle of Liberty Council sold its current headquarters building to Tredyffrin Township two years ago and the council has been renting back space for the Scout Shop and administrative offices. The sale of the building provided a much-needed location for a secondary station for the Berwyn Fire Company, who is currently in need of more space as they rebuild their main station. Since the sale of the building, council leadership has been searching for a new location that is actually located within our council (our current building is not) and better serves our families and volunteers.
After an exhaustive search, the council will be relocating its Service Center and the Valley Forge Scout Shop to the Cedar Run Corporate Center at 901 E. 8th Avenue in King of Prussia. The new location is 5½ miles and about 10 minutes away from the current building.
As we prepare for the move, there’s a few key dates that we want to make you aware of:

The last day of operation for the Valley Forge Scout Shop at the current location at 1485 Valley Forge Road in Wayne will be Saturday, August 3, 2024. The shop will reopen at the new location at 901 E. 8th Avenue, Suite 103, in King of Prussia on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

The last day of operation for the Firestone Scouting Resource Center (council office) at 1485 Valley Forge Road in Wayne will be Wednesday, August 21, 2024. The office will be closed on August 22 and 23 and our new Service Center will open at the new location at 901 E. 8th Avenue, Suite 103, in King of Prussia on Monday, August 26, 2024.
August is typically our least busy month in the Scout Shop and office and we’re doing all we can to minimize any disruption of service during the move. While the front desk of the current resource center will be open through August 21, please be advised that most support team members may be working remotely or prepping for the move during the first three weeks of August, and that not all services may be available as we transition to the new location. However, all of our staff members, along with our amazing district and council volunteers, stand ready to assist you with your Scouting needs in every way we can as you prepare a fantastic fall program for the youth and families we serve.
We’re excited about our new location and we appreciate your patience as we make the move this summer. Over the next few weeks, as move details become more clear, we will keep you posted with updates on services that may be effected and when. In addition, in July we will make an announcement with details about a Grand Opening celebration for the store and offices we anticipate happening in mid-September.
