If you love barbecue and you love Scouting, come out to the 13th Annual Henry Shelor District BBQ Cook-Off! This is an official South Carolina Barbecue Association Competition, and there will be live bands on stage and Scouts helping out everywhere at the American Legion Fairgrounds in Sumter.
Friday, March 21, 2025, features a Wing Ding Cook-Off.
Saturday, March 22, 2025, features BBQ cook teams from all over the country showing off their skills with the best BBQ! Come out and join the fun!

Members of Scouts BSA have the opportunity to focus on and complete one merit badge during this exciting event! A variety of badges will be offered to suit different interests. Sessions run from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with a lunch break. The cost is $20 per Scout, including lunch and patch.

This course has you working on the basics to be able to help one of the council's Climbing/COPE Directors run the Climbing tower and/or COPE course during events. Knots, belaying, climbing, and just hanging around are what's in store!

University of Scouting
(for all Scout Leaders and Parents)
March 29, 2025
River Bluff High School, Lexington
Scout leaders and parents are invited to enhance their skills through a variety of 30-minute training sessions offered throughout the day. Sessions begin at 9:30 AM, following the Scouts' Merit Badge start and end at 2:30 PM. Open to all Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, and Venturing leaders. Takes place during the MBU. You do not have to have Scouts registered for MBU to sign-up. Check the course listings to see available topics. Most classes are single-session, while some may run longer.
Cost is $15 per leader, including lunch. Pre-registration is required to ensure accurate session and lunch counts. Register Here

Youth Protection Training Policy...
Stay Trained to Stay Active!
A continuous valid Youth Protection Training (YPT) certification is required to keep membership active. Multiple reminders are emailed out starting 90 days before the expiration of YPT. After your YPT expiration date, if any adult has not renewed their YPT, their membership will be suspended until the YPT has been renewed.
