Scout's Summer Fun Hunt is back! Visit parks, complete challenges, earn points and win prizes!

Party at PARC

Join us at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center for the kick-off bash of the summer, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., June 8! The event features:

• Fun activities
• Touch-A-Truck
• Inflatables
• Entertainment
• Food trucks
• Family/Tot Open Gym
• And more!

Additionally, the walking track and Prairie Fit Fitness Center are FREE and open to all during the event. There will also be information on the Park District’s 2024 capital projects in the hallway of PARC. No registration is necessary at this FREE event.

Jammin' in June

New this summer are Jammin’ in June Concerts featuring family-friendly performances for kids. All events are FREE and run 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. at Village Green. No registration is necessary.

Basketball Camp Starts Next Week!

Summer camp for ages 6-7, 8-9, and 10-14 starts next week! Participants learn new skills and improve existing ones in this Monday through Friday camp. Players work on becoming a well-rounded player focusing on skills like passing, dribbling and shooting with individual work and mini games.

NEW! Bug Bonanza

This new program running 4:30 to 5:15 p.m., June 18 features the fascinating world of insects and arachnids, with a special focus on cicadas and tarantulas! Program includes subtle interactions, general viewership and live feedings (view discretion advised). A general question and answer session is included. Though the program is FREE, registration is required.

Traveling StoryWalks

The next StoryWalk event is set for 6 to 8 p.m., June 19 at Village Green, 24121 W. Chicago St., in downtown Plainfield. Join the Plainfield Area Public Library for, "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" by Mac Barnett with a craft provided by the Park District. This is a FREE event. No registration is necessary.

Tiki Bash

Join us at Ottawa Street Pool from 3 to 5 p.m., June 22 for an afternoon of Polynesian fun that includes swimming, music, dancing and entertainment. No registration is necessary for this FREE event. Sponsored by Orthodontic Experts and Edward Jones.

Cruise to Village Green

Once a month during Cruise Nights, stop by the pavilion at Village Green from 5 to 7 p.m. for special activities, crafts, giveaways and fun! There is no need to register for these FREE events.

Great Adventures Preschool

Registration for the 2024-25 school year is now being accepted for Great Adventures Preschool! Great Adventures offers young children opportunities for social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth through a balance of both child-led and teacher-guided play. Great Adventures offers a Finally Five class that is unique to most preschool offerings in that the prerequisite is turning 5 between September 1st and December 31st. This class runs 5 days/week (9:30 a.m. - noon) or 3 days/week (12:45-3:15 p.m.).
