Heading to Summer Camp but in Need of Financial Assistance?
 Through focused fundraising GNYC is able to provide "Camperships" to Scouts in need. Applications for a Campership can now be completed online. Visit  bsa-gnyc.org/campership  to submit your request and read additional information and details.    Printed copies of the application will still be accepted and can be found by visiting  bsa-gnyc.org/camping
Valid Youth Protection Training Required for Rechartering

A new policy has been adopted which requires all registered adults to have a certification in Scouting’s Youth Protection Guidelines- valid for one year from the time of their units re-charter. As the safety of our Scouts is our number one concern, we hope you will be able to complete the 25-minute Youth Protection online training. Download the .PDF walk-though for help.

Next Wood Badge Training Announced

Scoutings premier training course will be offered at Camp Alpine from Oct 7-9 and Nov 3-5, 2017. Designed to be a “mountaintop experience”, Wood Badge is a source of training and inspiration to thousands. Read More

Spring Scout Sports Days

...including stops in London, Paris, and culminating at the BSA Transatlantic Council’s Camporee on the beaches of Normandy. From April 14th - 23rd, 2017* Scouts will get the experience of a lifetime visiting historic locations and interacting with fellow scouts from around the world.  f you’re interested in learning more please visit, www.bsa-gnyc.org/Normandy $2,600.00 per person*. Limited space. Participants need to be approved by Committee. Scouts must be at least 13 years old, First Class and be registered with Troop or Crew.

Philmont Scout Ranch
 Those who have trekked at Philmont often call it the pinnacle of their Scouting “careers”.  Did you know that GNYC sends a contingent every summer ?  If you have never been before, we can help you prepare.  If you already go regularly with you Troop, you can share expenses by traveling with other GNYC Scouters. Read on for more information or to speak to a member of the GNYC Philmont Committee.
Florida Sea Base
GNYC is launching a committee to help provide leadership to an annual Contingent to the Florida Sea Base. We will be planing a trip that would become an annual expedition, to attend as leaders for the Contingent and to help promote across all 8 Districts.  If you are interested, please email Dave.Swartz@scouting.org.
