Children's Services and Law Presentation @ Adventure Centre - Upper Boardroom
Come join us for an evening that takes a deeper look at our Duty of Care and what that means for Scouters. We will have a guest speaker from Children's Services on hand to provide an overview and help our Scouters be more prepared. No sign up required!

The Amazing Race - aka Klondike Derby @ Camp Tanner (Ernest Poole Camp)
The Amazing Race is a one-day winter challenge camp requiring teamwork and tests the “Scouting Skills” of scouts and ventures . All teams build a sled and travel from country to country with their sled.

February 1 from 0900 to 1600hrs
Archery Rangemaster - Youth Edition @ Edmonton Adventure Centre
Archery Certification Training for youth. Certification is required to run ranges in Scouts Canada. Youth over 14 may participate but will become an assistant rangemaster. You must be re-certified every three years to be in good standing

February 15 from 12:00 to 4:00

Edmonton Office is hiring a Short Term Position - File Clerk - Student Position
The File Clerk is responsible to ensure the physical registration records for 4 councils are reviewed, sorted, and moved into storage at the end of each Scouting year in preparation for the next registration cycle. 
Responsibilities:
  • Support a movement to electronic record-keeping from paper-based record keeping within areas of responsibility.

  • Review, sort, and move into storage physical registration records that are no longer needed in the working registration files for the coming registration cycle.

  • Enter registration and screening documents that are received as hard copies into the myscouts database. Ensure that physical and electronic membership record filing systems and databases are current, accurate, and organized.

  • Position term is February 1 to April 30, 2020

International Travel Group
We are having a planning meeting about travelling abroad in 2021 and 2022. We would like to introduce youth and scouters to the opportunities offered by the NLC International Travel group and to provide background, budget and fundraising to ensure everyone can be exposed to the international scouting movement. Most trips occur over a 18-21 day span in the summer and include a cultural component. All trips are planned with youth input. 
Planned Trips:
2021 - Ireland Rover Moot - Rovers only
2021 - Gilwell 24 and Brownsee Island - Venture aged youth
2022 - Finland's National Jamboree
Planning meeting to take place on Sunday January 12 at 7 pm at the Adventure Centre
