Attendance for Eagle Scouts is made possible through the generosity of event sponsors. If you are unable to attend the dinner, we invite you to consider supporting Eagle Scout attendance through a sponsorship. Your support allows these new Eagles to be recognized alongside the Scouters who helped guide their journey and affirms our shared commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders.

Together, we can ensure that every Eagle Scout is honored in the way this milestone deserves.

Scouting Spirit at the USC Basketball Game

Troop and Pack 130 said “Fight On!” this weekend at the USC Basketball game and had a fantastic time cheering on the Trojans!

We love seeing our units out in the community having fun and representing Scouting spirit. What has your unit been up to? Share your latest adventures by contacting our Marketing and Communications Director, Cicily Gardea.

Make an Impact Before the Year Ends

Your generosity at year’s end helps shape what Scouting can accomplish in the year ahead. A gift to Greater LA Scouting keeps Scouting affordable, supports camperships for families who need assistance, and strengthens local units so every Scout has the opportunity to learn, grow, and lead.

Your investment also supports the volunteers who bring Scouting to life and ensures our camp properties remain safe, welcoming, and ready for adventure. This work is especially important as we prepare to reopen Camp Cherry Valley and look ahead to another summer at Hubert Eaton Scout Reservation, continuing to invest in the places where Scouts build confidence, character, and lifelong skills.

Your gift today can help

  • $26 supports essential supplies for training and programs
  • $100 provides hands-on program materials so Scouts can learn outdoor skills
  • $250 strengthens volunteer development across our units
  • $750 helps maintain safe, high-quality camp properties for all youth
  • $2,500 ensures transformative Scouting experiences so more youth can join and thrive

Gifts made by December 31 are tax-deductible and help ensure Greater LA Scouting begins the new year strong and ready to serve.

Scouts Conquer the 20-Mile Hike

Scouts took adventure to the next level on December 6th during the annual 20-mile Hiking Merit Badge trek along the rugged Arroyo Seco on the Gabrielino Trail near Altadena!

Nineteen brave participants, 11 Scouts and 8 determined adults, powered through just over 11 hours of real-deal hiking. The trail threw everything at them: 48 stream crossings, 3 waterfalls, and yes… even a random bowling ball.

With headlamps on and spirits high, the crew pushed through the final miles, including a few chilly water crossings in the dark. Fully prepared and fully unstoppable, every single participant completed the challenge.

Now that’s Scout grit in action!

The Next Generation of Leadership

This past weekend, we proudly welcomed 20 new Explorers into our law enforcement Exploring family. After 12 intensive weeks of physical training, classroom work, and hands-on practical application at El Camino College, these youth rose to the challenge and grew into confident young men and women ready to serve their communities.

The South Bay Regional Explorer Academy Class #88, hosted by the Torrance Police Department, exemplified dedication and resilience. We are deeply grateful to the Torrance PD for their commitment and support in making this academy a success.

Class #88 also chose to honor one of our own, fallen Baldwin Park Police Explorer Advisor Officer Samuel Riveros, by dedicating their class color run to his memory. May he know that his legacy lives on in Baldwin Park, across LA County and City, and in every Explorer who follows in his footsteps.

We can’t wait to see all that these new Explorers will achieve as they join their respective departments.

Eagle Scouts Ready to Shine at the Rose Parade

The end of the year is quickly approaching, and with it comes one of our favorite traditions, the Rose Parade!

We’re proud to share that 50 of our outstanding Eagle Scouts will help ring in the New Year by carrying the official float banners along the parade route. What an incredible honor and celebration of their leadership!

Mark your calendars for the 137th Rose Parade: The Magic of Teamwork

January 1 at 8:00 AM PST

Watch from home or grab a seat along the 5.5-mile route in Pasadena.

However you join in, we look forward to cheering on our Eagle Scouts as they help kick off 2026 in true Scouting style.
