This Weekend Is Loaded With Auctions

Tonight I hope to participate in a Scouting Alumni Communities Webinar led by Bradley Taylor and Tim Brown. I am a little late to the game on these BSA webinars although when I was a camp director I did plenty. Back in the day I was in APO but I don't think I am a member of NESA. I want to say when I got my Eagle I might have received a free card or something.

Order of the Arrow Auctions Up For Bids

My interest in this topic is peaked because next Saturday we are having an all camp staff reunion at Camp Barstow. The four camps from the territory now covered by the Indian Waters Council are included. But even here we don't have (to my knowledge) an alumni association. On our recent committee call I suggested we put out a quarterly/semi-annual email newsletter to these people. In our council Tripp Clark has organized the reunions since 2010 and has a very thorough list.

Auctions Are The Hot Finds Secret Sauce

I don't know what models there are for staff alumni groups or other affinity groups but that's why I want to listen to the webinar. I know that the guys I was on staff with back in the day still feel like they are part of something. But only a few of them have reengaged with the program. So I'm looking for ideas and maybe we can start a conversation at the reunion.

Patchblanket Santeeswapper eBay Store

On eBay I have 216 auctions ending on a wide variety of items. This includes some killer Georgia OA including one of these most revered conclave patches in the South (pictured below). I also have runs from PA, NJ and VA as I work through boxes in the office to get stuff listed.

Perhaps now that my kids have aged out of the program and I gave up working on staff I am a bit adrift when it comes to wearing the uniform. I have even considered helping a local Cub pack which most of us would cringe at. I am sure many of you went through this phase where you enjoy having your time back but also want to be part of something. If that's you send me a response and tell me how you stayed involved.
