in the days of many camps being sold and the sad stories I read on Facebook I hope me sharing about my old camp will put a smile on some folks faces. It was perhaps 15 years in the making for the council board to have the foresight to put the camp and Scout office in a trust around 2017. Nobody knew bankruptcy was knocking but the writing was on the wall for a long time that leaders at the great white teepee did not like camps that were a drain on council budgets. So with its own endowment and some well connected volunteers working to grow those investments I really feel like the camp will be helping kids make memories beyond my lifetime.
