This Weekend Is Loaded With Auctions

Over the last two days I've been have enjoying the fellowship of the South Carolina TOR and my lodge banquet. Even the banquet had a silent auction so it was a big patch weekend.

Order of the Arrow Auctions Up For Bids

One of the highlights of the TOR was just slowing down and walking around the room to have a conversation with all the other dealers. Some times at a show you get wrapped up on trying to man your store that you miss out on a chance to see the other people in the room. I even talked to someone about coaching them up on starting a new TOR at their council service center. So again seeing people in person and having these conversations are invaluable to the hobby.

Auctions Are The Hot Finds Secret Sauce

I was invited to bring a historical display of Camp Coker items to the lodge banquet. Tripp Clark did the same for Camp Barstow so that our entire council territory was represented. This year is the 95th anniversary of Barstow and Tripp is organizing a staff reunion for this summer. In the display I had pictures, patch collection and some paperwork. I also shared a new to me display of sashes signed by E. Urner Goodman at the 1977 Dixie Fellowship in Charleston.

Patchblanket Santeeswapper eBay Store

On eBay I have 210 live auctions with 80 of those ending tonight. I've received a some messages from people on this interesting MN OA Dancer neckerchief. I was glad that it came with provenance in the form of a signed letter.

I still need to unload the van (hopefully I can get out to the warehouse today) and start prepping for a busy week. Over the horizon I know that the Indy TOR is 2 weeks away and I've lined up a few stops coming and going to see people about collections. I'm still trying to figure out if I can leave Thursday of that week to get it all in or I might need to even push off Weds after supper. I also just got some tables at the Jamestown NC TOR the following weekend. It's going to be a busy February of travel!
