Vintage Scouting Memorabilia On eBay
This weekend I'm attending a local TOR that is making a come back after a hiatus of maybe 5 years. I think that having shows scattered across the country every weekend is healthy for the hobby. So it's also true that if we need to support these shows and help get the word out on them. That's what I'm trying to do now by mailing a 1-page flier to all my eBay orders that has a list of every TOR on the calendar in the country.
The local show for me this weekend is the Old North State Council Trade-O-Ree in Jamestown, NC. We have a healthy calendar with four TORs in the state spread out every few months. If anyone is coming to Jamestown and wants to get free delivery on a Best Hobby Page order use coupon code PICKUP and I will have it packed and ready Friday.
Today in the warehouse I'm going ot tackle sorting neckerchiefs! I sort them into categories like OA, camps, trails, Jamboree etc and then prep them for photography. I've already ironed and washed the ones that needed help so they are all ready to roll. I'll post a picture on Facebook today just for fun of my sorting table.
On eBay I have 224 live auctions including RWS, Florida OA, camps and more. In addition to that every morning I have new fixed price listings going live in the 80k+ items eBay Store so follow my account to get notifications and occasionally a discount coupon offer.
For the Old North State TOR I think I am going to copy my friend Hank Birdsong and bring a bunch of 1:1 trade stock. I've struggled just a little bit this TOR season because I have 100% of my good stuff going on eBay. I have 4 tubs of items that are designated "trading stock" for NOACs and Jamboree so I'll bring those and have some fun swapping and shaking hands.
