Safety Moment- Shooting Sports Program


The BSA teaches our Scouts to be safe and responsible with firearms. All adults leaders should be familiar with the rules and regulations required of these programs. Including age-appropriate guidelines, both NRA Certified Instructors and Range Safety Officers, eye and ear protection, and most programs are limited to Council camps & programs. Please ensure you follow the rules and keep our Scouts SAFE.

Camp Comer- New Leadership!


We are pleased to introduce Duane Southers as the 2023 Camp comer Director and Angie Southers as the 2023 Camp Comer Program Director! Duane has been with the Council for seven years as a Camp Ranger, and Angie has been running Council-level programs for more than a decade. With their combined skills and experience, we have no doubt that they will deliver an exceptional program at Camp Comer this summer!

National Youth Leadership Training


NYLT is a six day, five night course that provides Scouts (13+ in age) with methods, skills and experiences to become better leaders in their unit.


Summer NYLT Course: June 25-30 at Camp Westmoreland.

Woodbadge 2023


Woodbadge is the best and most advance leadership training course offered in Scouting. It will provide you with the tools to be a superior leader in every aspect of your life. The course is especially helpful to those who are new to Scouting.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills-

REGISTRATION IS OPEN!


Vulcan District is hosting an Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills course on April 15-16 at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook. This course will help prepare Scouts BSA leaders, Venture Crew Advisors, and anyone interested to deliver a quality outdoor program for Scouts. Registration is now open for this course.

Powder Horn


Powder Horn is a High Adventure Resource Management Course open to all Scouting Adults and Youth age 14+. Participants will learn the necessary skills to oversee a high adventure program and learn of local resources available for your group’s program. 


Oct 6-8, Nov 3-5 at Camp Jackson and Camp Comer.

Spring Pow Wow 2023


Make plans to join Coosa Lodge at Camp Comer March 17-19 for Spring Pow Wow! This fun-filled weekend is open to Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, and Sea Scout Ships. Cub Scouts will be able to take part in the 2nd Annual Moonlight Moon Rock Hike! To learn more, Click Here.

Lodge History Virtual Cracker Barrel


Join us at 8pm on the 4th Thursday of each month for a Virtual Cracker Barrel to learn about our lodge's history followed by a group discussion. Follow us on Facebook or join our email list. Bring your best Scout Spirit and your own snacks!

2023 Spring Induction Weekend


All newly elected Candidates for the Order of the Arrow and existing Coosa Lodge members are encouraged to attend the Spring Induction Weekend on May 5-7 at Camp Sequoyah. We invite you to join us as we help prepare Camp Sequoyah for the 2023 Summer Camping season. Registration will close on Sunday, April 30th. Check-in at camp opens at 6pm and will close at 11pm.
