Lauren Hale, PhD

Lauren Hale, PhD, is a Professor of Family, Population, and Preventive Medicine at Stony Brook University School of Medicine and is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of Sleep Health. Dr. Hale has been a valued member of Children and Screens’ National Scientific Advisory Board since 2014 and has played key roles in numerous Institute initiatives. Dr. Hale’s work has been instrumental in uncovering the ways digital media use affects sleep, particularly among children and adolescents, and she remains committed to advancing knowledge and shaping healthier sleep habits for future generations.

2025 Research Grant Program

Children and Screens is pleased to announce a seed grant funding opportunity in conjunction with the 2025 Congress. Up to $150,000 of funding will be awarded on a competitive basis to Congress participants. The funding will support interdisciplinary scientific research that advances understanding of issues discussed at the 2025 Congress. Application guidelines and deadlines will be posted in the coming months.
