The Cornerstone Academy PTA is hosting a parent-only screening of "Screenagers Next Chapter: Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience" on at 6:00 p.m. on January 30 on the CSA/AOC campus.

The film examines the science behind teen’s emotional challenges, the interplay of social media, and most importantly, what can be done in our schools and homes to help them build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety and depression in our digital age. From the Counselor's Desk: Talking Transitions

Between campus visits, high school presentations and course selection events, 8th-graders and their families are preparing for the big transition to high school. Here are a few more calendar events and resources for your rising 9th-graders.

  • January 22 - CSA students will visit their zone high school during school.
  • January 30 - Northbrook High School will give a presentation for students only at CSA .
  • Feb 1- Northbrook will host a course selection open house from 10 a.m. - noon.
  • February 7 - Stratford High School will give a presentation for students only on February 7.

Parents' Night Out: Feb 14 at
The Branch

Why should kids have all the fun? CSA PTA is hosting a Parent's Night Out on February 14 at The Branch, 7710 Long Point (at Wirt Rd.)

Drop off your kids at the Valentine’s Dance, then head to  The Branch gastropub.  They are known for their creative menu and craft beer. Join us for a very casual evening of fun, games, conversation, and raffle tickets. Meet other parents from Cornerstone Academy.

At this event, we will also be collecting wine for our upcoming Birthday Bash Carnival Auction event. Bring a bottle of wine ($25 value or higher) or a SPEC's gift card ($25 value or higher).
Each donation will be entered into a raffle.

Place yearbook ads for 8th-graders ASAP

If you want to make a touching tribute to your 8th-grader in the yearbook, ads must be completed online by February 1 on the Balfour Website. Ads are $100 for a half page, $75 for a quarter page and $45 for 1/8 page. For questions about the CSA yearbook, email  Mrs. Bimler or  Mrs. Kim.
