This month Courtney Parker joined us as our Communications Specialist and Meghan Young will continue with Scripps in a new role as Associate Director of Opening Minds through Art.
Senior Research Scholar Phyllis Cummins, PhD, has been heavily involved in efforts to improve adult learning and age-inclusive education. Through numerous grants, partnerships outside of Miami University, and serving on work groups and committees, Cummins is making a difference at Scripps and beyond.
For three weeks, we featured personal stories from our faculty, staff, students, and alumni on our Facebook and Instagram pages. These stories showed the diversity in how many of us found a passion for gerontology and how it intertwines with our personal lives.
Professor of Economics and Scripps Research Fellow John Bowblis, PhD, wasted no time in 2020. In addition to 16 peer-reviewed papers accepted for publication and one research brief, Bowblis has an active role in five newly-funded grants.
Trueblood, Graduate Students Recognized for Work on DEI Taskforce
MGS student Samuel Van Vleet, along with three other students were recently honored by President Crawford for their work on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force.
Their book titled Global Aging: Comparative Perspectives on Aging and the Life Course, 2nd Edition won first place in the Gerontologic Nursing category.
