2016 Holiday Extravaganza
Thousands enjoyed this year's Holiday Extravaganza on Nov. 25 and 26 at Excursion Park. The event featured two days of ice skating, a Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony, as well as shopping and discounts throughout town. On Friday night, Mayor Desiderio and Santa Claus lit the tree at Excursion Park, following the Christmas parade down JFK Boulevard. On Saturday, shoppers hit the stores for Small Business Saturday and a chance to win a 50-inch LED TV, courtesy of the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization. Chris Glancey and Lisa Iannone presented this year's winner, Matt Signore of Middletown and Sea Isle City, with the prize on the stage at Excursion Park.

Polar Bear Prince & Princess and
Polar Bear King & Queen Contest
 The crowning of the Polar Bear Royal Family will be here before you know it. Kick off Polar Bear Weekend on Feb. 17 with the Polar Bear Prince and Princess contest at La Costa Complex followed by the King and Queen contest. Contestants, ages 12-16, will answer questions for the panel of judges and be judged based on their creativity and charisma. Contestants in the King and Queen contest must be over 21 years old. The 2017 Prince and Princess and the 2016 King and Queen will each receive a royal crown and sash, as well as a special gift from the Chamber.
Polar Bear Plunge

 It's never too early to make your Polar Bear Plunge plans. Gather your group, get your costume ideas flowing, and sign up today! The 23rd Annual Polar Bear Plunge will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18 and will feature the costume contest and live entertainment at La Costa all weekend long. Mike's Seafood Polar Bear Run/ Walk for Autism

Registration is now open for the 2017 Mike's Seafood Polar Bear Run/ Walk for Autism. Cap off Polar Bear Plunge Weekend by running the 5k or walking the 1.5 mile along the promenade in Sea Isle City. Following the race, head over to the heated tent at La Costa for the awards ceremony, live music, kids activities, food and more! The business was established by entrepreneurs, Mickey and Norma Gardner, who also owned and developed several other businesses in Sea Isle City. Today, the business is still owned by the Gardner family and operated by Joe Gardner.
Whether you're looking for a new paint color, electrical tools, or even holiday decor, Gardner Hardware has a little bit of everything under one roof. The business stocks complete lines of hardware, electrical and paint, plus has a complete propane filling station and specializes in plumbing services too. When you're ready for your next project, Joe and his team can help supply all of the necessary tools. The business is open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 5pm and Sundays 9am to 3pm.

La Fontana Coast has been serving authentic Italian cuisine in Sea Isle City since 2008. Executive Chef and Owner, Bujar Daku and his brother, Gani Daku opened La Fontana De Mare in Strathmere in 1998 before opening La Fontana Coast in Sea Isle City. Today, the duo own and operate a number of businesses together; La Fontana De Mare, La Fontana Coast, La Fontana Della Citta in Philadelphia, La Vecchia Fontana in Avalon, and Fratelli's Wood Fired Pizzeria in Strathmere. In 2017, they will open a new location for Fratelli's Wood Fired Pizzeria at 35 50th Street, across from the La Fontana Coast.
During the winter, La Fontana Coast is open Thursday through Sunday from 4pm for dinner. Customers will enjoy signature dishes such as the homemade gnocchi Gorgonzola or the veal fontana. Throughout the holiday season, the restaurant will offer a gift card special; pay $100 for gift cards and receive $25 free. The restaurant will serve a traditional seven fish dinner on Christmas Eve and is set to offer a 5-course New Year's Eve menu with seatings at 6pm, 8pm, and 10pm. The cost is $60 per person and reservations are required.
