920 sponsor banners, 5 miles of branded fence, over 500 exhibitors and hundreds of helpful parking attendants and volunteers were all here to welcome you to Day 1 of the 28th Annual Sea Otter Classic. There might have been a chill in the air but the sun was out and the athletes were, too. Criterium racers took to the track while the Enduro competitors
raced four stages that included a downhill run and a finish on Sea Otter's world-famous dual slalom course that was redesigned for 2018.
The Expo welcomed visitors with demos, demos, and more de
mos. Those wishing to try out an eBike could do so on either the road or eMTB demo track. Subaru hosted a number of pros on their dirt jump and all ages enjoyed racing the remote-controlled Subaru Brat cars at their booth.
The crowds were wowed by the technical riding skills of Danny MacAskill, the Drop n' Roll team and Mike Steidley.
With a completely sold out Expo, the energy is high as we ride into Day 2. Look forward to the
pro road race, circuit racing, the Haibike eMTB race epowered by Bosch, and loads of special events happening in the Expo. Bring the kids to the Sea Otter Bridge at noon for the second annual kids' track race.
