Recap - Sea Otter Day 2
Friday was packed with energy and sunny skies. Circuit racers kicked off the day's action, followed by road racers who took to the rolling hills nearby. Larger-than-usual crowds enjoyed the mountain bike short track action and the kids' track race was back for the second year to the delight of the 12 and under crew. The highly-anticipated Haibike eMTB Race ePowered by Bosch took to the hills to the thrill of spectators of all ages.

The kids were out in full-force, enjoying the egg hunt hosted by Skipper and all that the Specialized Kids' Zone had to offer. Subaru Brat races had the crowds cheering all afternoon. Exhibitors were sampling all their products and offering hats, travel mugs, stickers and more to those who visited their booths to talk shop and hear what's new.
Can't Miss Events for Saturday
Plan to visit the Subaru booth 523 Saturday midday for an exciting block party from noon-3 p.m. There will be live music performed by The Cave Singers, pro riders shredding the new dirt jump, beverages by Klean Kanteen and food provided by Thule. Then head over to booth 229 for the Clif Bar/IMBA happy hour from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Come cheer on all the folding-bike action as Brompton returns for its second year at Sea Otter. This year brings two teams all the way from Italy to compete - Brompton Italia and Team Venizia. They will join U.S. teams Brompton Mafia and Freedom Folding Bikes in the type of fierce competition that can only happen in formal wear. With the fastest woman and man at tomorrow's event receiving a spot at the London finals in July, the stakes are high. Brompton has a unique, global community where a Brompton rider can fly into a foreign city, post to the local Brompton Facebook page and literally have dozens of Brompton locals show up the airport to show them around town. Come feel the camaraderie of the Brompton community as you cheer on the riders at tomorrow's event. All adult spectators will be given a ticket for a free beer.

The early morning hours kick off the two Gran Fondos, the MTB Tour and the Gravel Grinder Tour. Head up the hill above the corkscrew to take in the Dual Slalom action on this year's course that is a throw back to an old-school style of course with more grassy turns and fewer jumps, which is certain to delight racers and crowds alike.

Have you had a chance to enjoy Sierra Nevada's Sea Otter Ale yet this year? Swing by one of the beer gardens for a sip and grab some grub from one of the many food vendors.
