A Winter Storm Watch and an Extreme Cold Watch have been issued for our area. Unseasonably cold temperatures will arrive this weekend and continue through early next week. Saturday night into Sunday morning will be the coldest period, with temperatures around 17°F and wind chills in the single digits (as low as 6-8°F).
Possible Snow Saturday-Sunday: There is increasing confidence for accumulating snowfall in our area. The timeframe of greatest concern is Saturday afternoon through midday Sunday (most likely onset: 1-4 PM Saturday; ending within several hours of sunrise Sunday). However, uncertainty remains regarding exact timing and snowfall amounts.
Safety Reminders: If wintry weather develops, roadways may become slick, especially on bridges and overpasses. Please monitor weather updates closely and take precautions to protect people, pets, and plants from the extreme cold.
