Wildlife Safety in Sea Pines

As we approach spring and temperatures rise, you may see an increase in wildlife activity around Sea Pines. Many animals are busy caring for their young or foraging for food to replenish their energy after the winter months. Be mindful of your surroundings and maintain a safe distance when observing wildlife.

Maintaining The Exterior of Your Coastal Home

Tips from the Community Standards Department: Regular maintenance of your home's exterior is key to keeping it looking its best, especially in a coastal area like Sea Pines where environmental factors can promote the growth of mold, mildew, and algae. In addition to inspecting the exterior surfaces, it's important to keep gutters clean, trim back overgrown vegetation, and ensure proper ventilation to prevent moisture buildup. By staying proactive with maintenance on your home exterior, you can protect your investment and enjoy a beautiful, well-maintained property for years to come.

The Sea Pines Forest Preserve Prescribed Burn Program

Prescribed burns mimic naturally occurring wildfires and aid in the forest management of the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. They help diversify the understory plant community and minimize the risk presented by uncontrolled wildfires. This practice is part of proactive land management initiatives widely used across the nation, especially in the Southeast. Planned prescribed burns in the Forest Preserve will be announced to the community ahead of time. For further information, please visit seapinesliving.com/prescribedburn.
