SeaKeepers Supports the United World Challenge

SeaKeepers is a proud supporter of Tez Steinberg, Chief Engine Officer of The United World Challenge. The Challenge is a 4-month long, 5000-mile journey from Australia to Hawai'i to raise awareness and funds in support of solving the ocean plastic problem. The Ocean Collective Summit

The Ocean Collective Summit (TOCS), hosted by SeaKeepers Asia which is held during the Blue Water EduFest, returned to ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove Singapore on November 2nd – 3rd. Fabien Cousteau, Founder of The Ocean Learning Center, was keynote speaker. TOCS's purpose is to inspire innovative ocean solutions and unite global experts for marine conservation discussions. SeaKeepers welcomed vessels Squalo, Seahawk, Ca’d’zan, and Ca’d’zan's tender to our DISCOVERY Yacht Program by installing Seabed 2030 loggers on board to map the ocean floor.

Goliath Grouper Aggregation Research
August 2023
SeaKeepers assisted Ocean First Institute on multiple expeditions in August and September to conduct research on Goliath Grouper Aggregations aboard DISCOVERY Yachts Sea Level and Chantal in Boca Grande, Florida.

SeaKeepers assisted the California State University Long Beach Shark Lab to investigate the population of juvenile white sharks in Carpinteria, CA, aboard DISCOVERY Yacht Valkyrie.

Teacher Workshop with Frost Science

From September 29th - October 1st, SeaKeepers hosted a Teacher Workshop in collaboration with Frost Science in South Florida. Joined by 13 middle and high school teachers from Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, the workshop featured marine science activities and engaged the support of DISCOVERY Yacht River Queen and SeaExperience.

SeaKeepers visited Morningside Park for a “Coastal Classroom” session with 11 students from the Barry CHAMPS-CROP programs to talk about marine pollution.

SeaKeepers joined Blue Scholars Initiative for the first partnered floating classroom of the school year with 22 fourth-grade students from St. Stevens Episcopal Day School.
